Oh shit i forgot to mention Lucki Ecks to you on Sat. 16 yr old kid out of Chiraq, who's whole sound is practically the opposite of the drill scene. His tape Alternative Trap is one of the best things I've listened to this year. Trap rap on indie beats, so good. Other notable southside artists that I've been digging that aren't as prominent: Kevin Gates and Young Thug. Gates is very much influenced by Future, in the sense that his discography follows the same niche - a split of street anthems/ballads but he doesn't rely on autotune. His tape Luca Brasi Story is stellar and arguably his best work so far. I didn't enjoy his latest - Stranger Than Fiction as much. Young Thug (ugh most generic name of all time) is imo the next to blow up in Bricksquad. His tape 1017 thug was incredible and definitely shouldn't be missed. I dunno how to describe his sound, but imagine if you put Danny Brown + Future + Prime Weezy in a pot, and you get Young Thug.

Alright, here's all the southside shit I was tellin you to check out, but first things first, get Clipse's Lord Willin' and Hell Hath No Fury ASAP. HHNF = my favourite album of all time, it's just cold as fuck. Back to the southside shit, first up - Future. Future is IMO one of the best rappers out of ATL right now. He's able to blend pop melodies and rap with ease, and I dig the way he uses autotune. He has great ear for beats, and makes some of the catchiest melodies ever. I understand its not for everyone though, since his voice is hit or miss for most people. The easiest way to get into him is probably through the album Pluto, the mixtapes Streetz Callin and Astronaut Status. Whenever Future + Mike Will Made It collab though you know that shit fucking bangs.

i'm hoping this is the right person, but i peeped the organized konfusion and lil ugly mane and figured. (went through mitch's friendslist lol). should i just get whole organized konfusion discography? I lost a fuckload of music when my external hard disk died so I'm slowly building up the collection again.
