I saw Belle and Seb live in the Albert Hall - or was it the South Bank ? - once. Got to go backstage as my then girlf knew their fiddler, so to speak. As far as I recall, I had to ask for a free beer and I can't remember if I got one then. so now I just plug my music at www.last.fm/music/wyn+williams looking for gigs in Wales...

I just listened to it: it wasn't too bad, actually! It was reasonably up-beat and the collection worked well together; they reminded me of Of Montreal and Freezepop (especially Consolation Prize which was my favourite).

Hi, I'm a student at UCL and for my dissertation I’m doing some research into audience experience at live indie gigs. I’m looking for people who have been to at least one indie gig in the past year to answer some questions about the gig they have attended. The questions can be found at: http://www.kwiksurveys.com/online-survey.php?surveyID=LKOMM_21485bf1 Thank-you very much for your help, it is very much appreciated :) Louise

Why thankyou Bristol boy, you do too, rather close to perfect in fact. Anyone who likes Yo La Tengo is liked by me :) Isn't it a pain Monsters of Folk aren't doing a Bristol gig? I think it will be some serious floor crashing in order to see them all in their finest.x

Wooohoo! We are finally friends on Last.fm! I feel like our musical friendship has just reached a legendary milestone :) Make sure you notify me when you're in Cardiff, dude. The option to crash at mine is always there!

I'm currently getting into The xx. Their new album's up on spotify which is my main source of music these days. Then there's Nodzzz, which aren't on spotify but check out their myspace. It's kinda surfy short pop songs which are really catchy. Also, wild beasts' new album. :) hows about you? what should I be listening to?

Yes! I'm looking forward to Grizzly Bear, Veckatimest is one of my favourite albums of this year. Did you see St. Vincent at the Thekla a month or two ago? That was a good gig.

I want to go to Green Man SO badly! Come on Summer term student loan, where are you... He's playing EOTR too, but so far, the line-up for that is less than spectacular, sadly. There's still more than half of it to be announced though. I want to go to so many festivals this summer. Sadly, all Cornwall has to offer is Calvin Harris, Dizzee Rascal and Cyprus Hill...thanks Kernow. I haven't yet heard the new Bill Callahan - I've downloaded it, but not got around to listening due to being out/my computer not being attached to my external hard drive very often/watching a LOT of West Wing... How's the dissertation etc going? Oh, and take a listen to a lovely Icelandic band called Benni Hemm Hemm - they're not your typical glacial fare. 'Eg a bat' has lovely harmonies. What else have you been listening to?

Have you heard Peter Broderick's album 'Home'? It's beautiful, maybe one of my favourite records of last year. Different from the one you're listening to at the moment though.

I imagine we're gonna see these guys very soon if their popularity increases as much as I think it will after this: http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/12826-why-there-are-mountains/

Yeah, definitely- saw some photos of live shows they've done (doesn't seem like they've done many, even in America) and it looks really intense. Sent the link in a message. The new Metric album is a lot like their older stuff, so I'd imagine you won't like it if you don't like those. I'm not a huge fan- it's sort of fun though, and there are a couple of good songs... I think they owe a lot of their success to Emily Haines' personality- they look pretty awesome live, too- she seems to go crazy. It's a nice change from all the new stuff I've listened to so far this year anyway.

At the moment they're unsigned and they only have like 1300 listeners on last.fm, so I doubt they have the money to come over... I think they're probably in the process of signing a contract though- they had a track on pitchfork the other day so their popularity should start exploding (I hope!). The album is absolutely immense- they deserve to be huge. If you want to hear the whole thing, I could send you a link?

Hey Mike, have you heard (of) this band called Cymbals Eat Guitars? I was just showing Laura and she said that you might like (read: love) them, which I then realised is totally right. http://www.myspace.com/cymbalseatguitars

Oh ok yeah, I get it. Took a while. It is in fact super that we are friends on here now though. Check out the Radiohead track I've been listening to. It's way better than the original (oo controversial)

No probs! Yeaa I usually take loadsa pics at gigs but have a broken cam atm :-/ (the usual shakey internal shizz that happens to Sony Cam's after too many moshpit beatings!) Sooo here's hoping I get a replacement in time for snow patrol :D They're usually nowhere near as close focus as some of yours though :) x

Ah, no worries- although if you hear about anyone wanting to go without a ticket, that'd be awesome if you could let me know :) I guess this is a big incentive to work hard before the weekend...
