hmhm, well i wonder how you're surviving the festival experience. i wonder what sort of food they have there. i wouldn't be surprised if you were vegetarian or vegan? read on your devart you were planning on 'experimenting'.... you're crazy mannn! happy tripping i hope xD there's talk of going to confest in april. i don't know if i could stand a week of naked hippies, bush fires, salad and hand drumming, some bands would be nice. i'll go if it ends up happening. festivals sound like good fun anyway, good experience. what's red moon like/what's so shitty about it? all i know is it's a metal bar. i met a guy once who claimed to own a metal bar, he was some young blonde guy... i assumed he meant red moon. not sure i believed him at the time. maybe i'll check it out one day. maybe. anyways, hurry up and come home soon kk?

Austere is more depressive black metal same with Miserere its depressive/atmosphere. Depressive ranges from many different area's so I'll give you a few from that sub genre and I'll go from there. Cold body radiation-depressive blackmetal/shoeglaze Hamleypa-pagan atmosphere bm Vergänglichkeit-depressive/raw bm Balnasar-depressive/atmo bm I give you more black metal after you listen to those Vergang is a hard find but well worth tracking it down

that sounds like a good plan :) i haven't been to rainbow before but i went to earthcore a few years ago and did as you suggested... got into a good state of mind ;) and wandered around. everyone there was really open and friendly so it was easy enough to do. lots to see and explore too at those festivals :) yup you'll enjoy shpongle if you like their music, especially if you really like their more recent stuff. their older stuff wouldn't really suit a live band performance so much, so they mainly play things off their more recent album/s. I love their music too, one of my all-time favourites :)

ahh lucky. wish i was going but i didn't know anyone going this year. oh ok well yeah they were good live, and i'm usually pretty fussy about that kind of thing :) maybe your friend just didn't like their music?

lolol clubbing, me? methinks you would have to drag me. i haven't heard of the black market, it sounds like quite the spectacle. northcote is miles away from them but nice to know, goths are pretty awesome and all.. there's like 100 black markets on facebook. you're just full of surprises, camping, arts and crafts, pokemon and now clubbing? what's next?

Hey, welcome back. it's ok, i got what you were saying originally about the art and stuff, i think i went off on a tangent with other ideas about stereotyping... i'll stop frustrating you with it! coincidentally a few friends were talking about that market idea and going up to st andrews selling random art and having people playing music next to their stall. probably unlikely since none of them have cars. and i love going out, i think i was just in a pissy mood. sometimes i just end up saying no due to my mind making some excuses which is what sucks. i don't know it's fucked, but yea, glad to hear you had fun hollie!

"so what kind of music do you like?" "EVERYTHING =D!" those kinds of people? don't think i've ever been camping before except in the backyard when i was younger (probly doesn't count). where you going to go? there must be lots of bush/country out there huh? fantasy... final fantasy =p?

my folks went to cowes/philip island and brought me back some hippie clothes and a seashell ;D. what's wrong with COD?? is it the kids who mic spam, or the general frustration that game causes? wouldn't have picked you for a gamer either xD. i'm mostly playing starcraft 2 these days - a real man's game ^^ reading is great btw, nice work.

i can see what you mean, how maybe it could be seen as contrived or disingenuous. really, what are we talking about though? whether someone is a poseur or not? if it's a work that you did then it will of course have some personal meaning but you can't control how somebody interprets it or whether they'll respond to it emotionally at all. i'm sure there are artists/bands out there who can pull stuff out of their ass no matter what mood they are in, actually this reminds me of something i was talking about with friends before. i just love browsing up- and-coming DSBM bands' myspace profiles, how they make split albums with their friends like "3 days of suicidal hatred!" and you can find pictures of them with their girlfriends with really fucked captions like "i'll never let you go!" or something, to make it relative ~

nice to 'meet' you too hollie. that's not so far away, only a couple of train rides. at least we live in the same city. what about if you're bored and you're scribbling something out, or if you're not in a particular state and end up with something you like? do you mean you dismiss that sort of work? "Do you have to be depressed to write a sad song? Do you have to be in love to write a love song? Is a song better when it really happened to you?" nothing much planned for the moment. my parents are away on vacation so the house is extremely quiet. i'll probs play some games, guitar, music. stare into empty space on the verandah for a while enjoying the rain ^^ sorry for the belated response... what are ya reading?

that's interesting, how drawing can be like a stream of consciousness for you. do you think you produce some of your best works that way, in that mode? what you said about being as diverse as possible i agree with, although it took me a long time to understand, mostly in regards to music. it's nice to have an escape like that. never been to new zealand but i've heard good things. i'm from ormond, near caulfield. yourself? my name's ben by the way ^_^ i'll take a wild guess and say your name is hollie ? hollie the horrible? any plans for this evening?

indeed, i enjoyed our talk too. there are some really twisted images here, in your sketches. my friend used to paint a bit and said it was really good for getting ideas out of his head, like if something was pissing him off he could paint the emotions or the situation and get a new perspective on it, in third person, looking on at what was happening. so for some reason i was reminded me of that. do you draw your ideas like that or are they mostly expressive? if that makes sense.. also your photos are great, i especially like the urban ones, and the village is cool too. i think i just found a car in that photo, otherwise it looks pretty much as the title suggests, a medieval peasant village at dusk. thanks for showing me. it's pretty humid out, nice night for a walk ^_^

thanks a lot for your suggestions, i'll see how it sounds slowed down some. i don't know why i'm self promoting though, apologies for spamming you with crap ! it's actually really amateurish and i should probably keep it to myself until it's somewhat finished, but thanks for the kind words, i did ask for your thoughts. anyhow, i'd love to check out your art some time too. have a good night!

you should defs take your cousin up on the offer, if travelling to the city isn't too out of the way. i did a bar course a while ago, i should probably try use that some time soon to find a job but bar work is great, especially if you like to travel. really, breaking up over the hours? you still have the afternoon free i think, as a baker. i suppose it could interfere if she worked during the day. i've never really tried any crafts. i've played guitar on and off for like 8 years and i was practicing heaps last year so i could start busking but i got too burnt out, i was playing stuff that was probably a bit too much to learn in a year's time. so nowadays i've pretty much regressed to playing black metal riffs. if art is what you're keen on and if it's what you're passionate about i think you should definitely give that a strong go, although the life of an artist is not pretty..!

what a crazy dude... i love how bad his tattoos are. sounds like a totally depraved stage show. sounds like i'm in a similar situation to you. finished school all naive thinking i'd just walk into some place and they'd give me a job. it's really fucked. you need to 'know' someone to get anywhere and i've got a pretty small, close group of friends. most of them got jobs through family etc. i've tried studying, did a music course last year, fucking hated it. i've considered apprenticeships, did some trials with local bakeries but i wasn't really up to selling my soul for shit all money. what can ya do? just gotta keep trying i guess.

awesome, i'm gonna go listen now xD what can I say, i'm a bit of a lifelover fan boy. nice to hear you like them too, it'd be really great to see them but i don't think that'll happen in the near future unless i traveled to sweden.. also unlikely! i'm not going to see Tool, but tickets must have been hell expensive for that show. what's GG Allin like by the way? If Rodney Rude was in a punk band ?

Well, they do have an incredibly beautiful country side, thank you lord of the rings :P Umm, I wish... I'm a young-en remember? Got year 12 and I'm done, I'm scared its going to go to quickly, which it probably will. These holidays are already half done and I've done nothing yet eeeep. you finished school yet?

I've missed talking to you, occasionally. Yeah, facebooks lame as shit, but I have 0 life, so it stays. I personally would rather Aus over NZ though, they get shit all international bands there, and it's full of kiwis :p Oh, reclusive little holly :P (don't take offense to that, sounds really dickish) Yeah have not been doing anything at all, like usual. Unsuccessfully looking for work and such. I've been well otherwise, you? Still in love with clowns? :)
