Kevin here from indiecater.com. I noticed from your profile that you have been playing some music from Red Star Belgrade recently. We are re-releasing the bands debut album ‘Where The Sun Doesn’t Shine’ for a budget price of €3.50. If you are interested in checking it out follow this link www.indiecater.com

What Jacobites album is this? I just ripped Robespierre's Velvet Basement, but I think I need to buy The Ragged School on cd because the version of The Big Store is a different one than the one I like. Trivia-The Big Store was actually written by Stephen Duffy! I just noticed that on the liner notes.

I don't think Dom has ever made a bad album. I don't know why you haven't heard of him before, as he's been around (in the music scene) since the 80s. Lucky for us (in Perth) we can pretty much see him all the time! And I have, in fact, seen him quite a few times, either playing or in the shops!

DM3 woohoo! I saw Dom Mariani in his most recent incarnation (the majestic kelp) at a music festival just last month. He's still got it.

what a great vid!!! the jam at the end was amazing. i sort of like the sloppy, garage quality of the song.

This video's been slaying me recently so I have to share it: http://youtube.com/watch?v=nWuK4No6XlE Copy and paste if you have to. It's The Remains playing on Ed Sullivan. Amazingly, they are playing a song they just wrote a few days before! This song was never recorded in a studio. I would have loved for them to tighten this song up and release it.

Get it... NOW! Babe should have ben a monster hit, while Ritchie Blackmore's guitar on I Call, No Answer is unmistakable. Humanesque is avail. on Amazon for $57.80. It is a crime someone this talented is only remembered as a T-Rex and Pretty Things footnote. I am getting the rest of his stuff from PPL now, no guilt, just regret I haven't heard him before.

How's the Jack Green stuff? I was thinking of downloading it but feel guilty about downloading too much. The funny part is downloading stuff from Powerpoplovers that I already have on vinyl (like Windbreakers and Winter Hours), but doing so to save me from the hassle of ripping it myself!

I think it was covered by every band in ATL when I was there in the early 80s. It is very close to 3 min of pop perfection.

September Gurls is a most worthy top track. I have an awesome cover of it by The Replacements on a live bootleg CD I picked up years ago called Shit, Shower & Shave. Of the course the original is great too.

Cruz - on th eNuggets question... of course I have it, it was really my intro to the early psych stuff. I'm just beginning to delve into that era. Sir Douglas Quintet and Sam the Sham are personal favs; however, there's some great stuff to be heard.

College in the ATL and great concerts at 688, Agora and 40 watt in Athens. Had a friend with 1000s of albums and great taste. Went to 2 or concerts a week for several years. Also picked up some previously unheard of bands from a certain 9 year old drummer : ).

First listen was great. i usually feel better with recommendations after several listens. has some Sgt Pepper type experimental noise (not my fav) but it will get several more listens over the TG holiday. First glance is the songwriting is just as good as you would expect. RJM Jr's talent never ceases to amaze me.

So does Lejeune. I checked out MS. SC5's first main album Strum & Drum makes me wish they had been more prolific. Their site talks about Peel discovering them, so maybe we'll get more recordings with Peel's passing.

Robyn Hitchcock & Venus 3 - Ole Tarantula is a phenomenal album. Best since Queen Elvis. Pete Buck's guitar is a joy to hear chiming through.
