i'm listening to a lot of Australian groups...i'm not Australian so it's just a coincidence. :) Glass Beams, The Drones, Tame Impala... Spotify's Australian Indie Mix is a nearly perfect snapshot of my recent listening habits.

Heey Naomi! Remember me? Do you still come around here? I can't remember where we left off, if I know myself I probably forgot to reply for a few years... Sorry about that. I haven't forgotten you. I was just watching a La Dispute live performance and I remembered how we both said Jordan is so sweet :) and wondered if you'd still talk to me. How are you?

Camelia! Of course I remember you, I'm so glad to hear from you again. And also happy to be remembered by La Dispute hahaha. It's been years since we last spoke, I can't remember where we left off too, but I do remember you where about to move to Helsinki with your boyfriend, right? Are you living there now? How have you been? I've been doing fine! Got graduated and now I'm working at a tech company. Things have been alright apart from the whole pandemic caos.

Então eu recomendo o Distressor do Whirr.

Gostei bastante!

Tu mora no Sul?

AAAA deixa eu me exibir um pouco então dasihusadiuh: eu fui no show do La Dispute em curitiba.

You're studying tarot? Wow, that sounds so interesting! Tell me more about that! Do you want to work in this domain? My hobbies are: reading, art cinema, gardening, cooking, a lot of art-related stuff, more recently scrapbooking too, and oh so much more! I'm interested in a ton of stuff, too bad the day is so short, haha. I'm even thinking of getting into sculpting! And this summer I might start writing the novel I've been planning for a long time... What about you? What are your hopes and dreams, except for the ones you mentioned? How would your perfect life look like? Do you have someone special in your life?

I am quite fond of tv shows too, I've watched so many... Tell me some of your absolute favorites? Oh, I've listened to your suggestions, Lilys and The Soundtrack of Our Lives and I found some songs I really love from both! I'm going to listen to more. They have that great Indie sound which I love. Hmm I have no idea which bands you listen to already because of the lastfm website change, so I'm sorry if I'm giving you obvious suggestions, but lately I love the most The National, Bon Iver, Damien Rice, Smashing Pumpkins, CocoRosie, Best Coast, The Smiths, Warpaint, Tool... if you look into them, you'll see my music taste is pretty eclectic, haha. So how come you haven't gone to college in São Paulo? How was it to grow up in such a big city? You should definitely take some time to travel when you can, Netherlands is such a great place! Me and my boyfriend travel a lot, we want to rent a house boat in Amsterdam next summer, and we're going to see the Northern Lights this autumn!

about my recent experience with that guy online (it was after about 3 or 4 months) and I was nowhere near interested in starting a relationship online after I got burnt like that. But he was so patient and sweet and told me that we can take it all as slowly as I want, he just enjoys my company so much, he wants to talk to me, and he doesn't want to lose me over the internet. So after 5 amazing months of getting to know each other, he came by plane to visit me here in Bucharest and he stayed with me for two weeks. It was the most amazing two weeks of my life, and I felt like we fit so perfectly in real life as well, like we were soulmates. And now here we are, planning a life together. Isn't life strange? I haven't seen him in two months now and we have to wait for another month to see each other. It's hard, I miss him so much. But it's all worth it. Speaking of tv shows, me and him have a Skype date later tonight and we have planned to see the latest episode of Game of thrones!

Shortly after, I found out my brother was going to Brazil, and so we thought we would see each other, and the thing was, we had to wait a year until I could visit too. We started a very short, but very intense romantic connection, but it ended quickly, because he got kind of scared about getting involved in a long-distance relationship I guess (he never told me exactly what happened to him) and he broke it off before we even got the chance to meet each other. It only lasted for about a month, but he was very special to me at the time and it hurt a lot. It was a very confusing and intense time for me, I made a lot of art ( most of which I have later deleted) and I remember that's when I started listening to La dispute, it kinda helped getting over him. But it was a long time ago, I never think about it anymore. I'm so glad things turned out like this, my boyfriend now is the most perfect person ever for me. He's always been so brave, strong, and supportive. When I met him, I told him

Well, the thing about my brother and that family I guess was that the father of the host family from Brazil was very authoritative and severe, and my brother is kind of a rebel. But everything is good now, it was a great experience for him to travel across the ocean for a few months. I would have loved to visit him too... but I guess some things aren't meant to be. I speak English, French, Spanish and Romanian (for now). My boyfriend started to teach me a little Finnish, and the first thing I'm going to do when moving to Helsinki is to sign up for a Finnish class at a university. I can't wait to discover their culture and the way they live, from what I've seen so far it's my kind of place and people. Oh, you asked about my *almost* Brazilian boyfriend haha... well, I met him here on lastfm too haha. We were listening to the exact same song at the same time, one from my favorite band at the time, Deftones. And we started talking here, we had a pretty great connection and good chemistry.

Hey there! Oh, I am so sorry for writing you so late. Yes, I am moving to Helsinki to be with my boyfriend in a few months, it's the most exciting thing! We have an amazing summer planned together, we're meeting in Paris in July for a few days to celebrate our 1st year anniversary, followed by a week at the seaside in Barcelona, after which we're both returning to Helsinki so I can be with him on his birthday and we can spend the rest of the summer together, looking at apartments to live in together. I've never been this happy in my life, this relationship is the best thing that's ever happened to me. Did I ever mention that I met him here on last.fm? It's kind of a funny story. This is a place I met many important people, including a very good friend of mine from Paris I'm going to see this summer. I make all kinds of art, but more writing and photography, and I've been making abstract paintings since last year. Here's the link to my gallery: http://silencedesreves.deviantart.com/

Here's the link to his art page so you can see it better :) https://www.behance.net/gallery/31013039/The-girl-and-her-cat He has some great works in there! Oh I forgot to tell you, my brother was in the city Campos do Jordão. Where in Brazil are you from? I'm sure in time things will be alright in Brazil again. Such a big country will pull together and everything will be okay. Romania isn't the best country, and it isn't the worst. A lot of government corruption over here and our proximity to the former soviet states has hindered our growth, but we're slowly getting there. It's a very beautiful and diverse country, for a small one, we have mountains and sea, and a lot of untamed nature. I wish we could use our resources better instead of selling them to other countries. I wish we could invest more in the healthcare system, and in education. Maybe things will be better someday. But I can't complain. This country's been through a lot. Do you want to move from Brazil someday?

He's still really young though, 17, and at that age crossing the ocean to live for a year on another continent, when he hasn't lived away from home ever, is such a huge experience. But he's grateful for it all. I wish he had learned some more Portuguese though! I'm a linguist, I studied foreign languages and now I'm getting my master's degree to become a conference interpreter. I currently work as a translator. I speak 4 languages, but I want to learn at least 3-4 more! I'm surely going to learn Finnish soon, which is a very difficult language. I think Portuguese sounds magnificent, very passionate. I only know how to introduce myself, and a few romantic phrases because I *almost* had a Brazilian boyfriend once, haha. So what were you going to study in Ireland? How old are you? I am 25. Do you have any hobbies? Tell me more about you and your life if you want. :) Oh hey, I remember you really liked the kitty drawing I had, my boyfriend drew it for my birthday.

Yes, I'm good now thank you! :) What are your favorite songs from Rooms of the house? Mine are Woman in mirror, Woman reading, Extraordinary dinner party. I'm glad to hear the concert was so awesome! I hope I'll see them someday, too. Not much chance here in Bucharest, but I'll be moving to Helsinki, Finland permanently in a few months, so maybe after. Ah, I'm really shy too, but I always try to let people know how I feel if their art moved me. I make art too, and I know how much it would mean to me if people told me. But I do start shaking and my heart feels like it's beating out of my chest when I do it, haha! I'm going to start listening to Bloom soon. Thanks for the guidance! What other music do you think I would enjoy? Ah, my brother enjoyed his stay in Brazil, but he couldn't stay longer. He went on a student exchange program with the Rotary club, and the family he was hosted at wasn't very compatible apparently.

Hello Naomi! I'm sorry I haven't replied for so long, I've had some complicated months and forgot about my online accounts for a while. But I love making new acquaintances around the world, so I hope you're still open to conversation! Back in autumn, we had started a discussion about La Dispute, and you were saying how lucky it was that they toured there right after you discovered them. Did you get around to listening to all their albums? Did you go to the concert? How was it? I see you've been listening to Beach House, I'm interested in listening to them, where would to recommend to begin? Oh, also, are you familiar with Ten Stories from mewithoutYou? It has a La Dispute vibe, a friend of mine from Lastfm recommended it, you might enjoy it. So how is life in Brazil right now? I heard it's going through some difficulties. I was supposed to visit this year, my brother was supposed to be there studying for a year, but he came home early, some things changed. I am from Romania, Europe :)

Aw what a nice message! Hi there, and thank you very much. My boyfriend made the drawing as a gift for my birthday, I thought it was adorable. It's so great to meet another La Dispute fan! I guess you found me through the Fall Down, Never Get Back Up Again song? From the shoutbox there? What an amazing song... This band is so intense! I was never much into them before, I found the voice to be too much. But when I was going through something a few months ago and I listened to them again (especially Such small hands, like 100 times), I felt like my soul had a voice... Do you have a favorite album from them? I think I love Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair the most, of course, but Rooms of the House and Wildlife are amazing, as well... and have you ever listened to Here, Hear? Jordan has the best voice for poetry. Oh, are you going to see them in November? Ahh! I envy you so much! My name is Camelia, by the way! What is yours? Want to be my last.fm friend? :)

Hello there. To tell you the truth I quite literally just got into La Dispute this very week. I had listened to them prior & I suppose that at that time in my life it seems to have not connected with me very well. Now I see the appeal. Very unique sound and very talented; the vocal patterns on Rooms of the House are glorious.

Yeah, it's interesting how your tastes change. Sometimes you come back to something that you previously didn't like, and for whatever reason now it "makes sense." I haven't heard of killer cars but I'll check it out. I'm glad you asked. I was waiting for someone to ask about my profile pic. I made it in Photoshop. The photo I used was some random photo of a lady dragging the thing that holds hand baskets (like you would use in a grocery store), and I just messed around with it in photoshop.

That is a cool day! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and that you gave it some additional listens so you could find that you would enjoy it. It's not my favorite work of theirs, but It's a beautiful album nonetheless. The Pearl is my favorite collaboration between them as of now. It's so peaceful. As for Radiohead, I've always felt that something is missing myself. I enjoy them, but I don't love them the way others do. Out of curiosity, what Radiohead did you listen to today?

Oh nice. I'll have to check them out. Thanks for the tips. I'm still very inexperienced with shoegaze, so I have much to check out. It looks like I was recommending ambient music to you. It's something that isn't for everyone. But I like it. I find it relaxing. One of my favorite things to do is to go for a walk while listening to an ambient album. As for the stress thing, I've certainly been under stress but everyone has things that they have to deal with. Things could be worse. Just gotta deal with it.

I remember those days of being super busy in school. Ah that's too bad. Sounds like they need to be paying the teachers better, but I guess you could say that about a lot of places. Wow, 3 months is pretty long. I hope they're able to get to some sort of agreement so that doesn't happen again. I've been tired as well lol. Normally I can fall asleep within 10-15 minutes, but the last few nights I've been having trouble falling asleep. Any new artists you've been listening to recently?

Thanks, I appreciate that. Lately I've been listening to a lot of ambient music, including Brian Eno, Harold Budd, and Aphex Twin. If you like relaxing, chill stuff you may enjoy it. Here's Ambient 2: The Plateaux of Mirror, an ambient album that I enjoy. I've also started listening to Yo La Tengo recently. The album I've been listening to is I Can Hear The Heart Beating As One. It's got some cool stuff on it. Ah well I'm sure Ireland will be a great experience for you, and I hope the budget doesn't get cut. It sounds like a good program. What's the name of the school that you'd be going to?

Hey, sure! That's awesome that you enjoy cooking. It's something that is fun for you, and it's always nice to know someone who cooks lol. I like sweets as well, though I've been trying to eat a bit healthier. I used to really enjoy donuts and ate them a lot when I was younger. The main reason I've put my career on hold is due to some personal things with my family and I. However, most of it should clear up in a few months. But I guess I'm still figuring out what I want to do, so its good to have this time. I probably wont do anything with journalism directly, unless something with music were to pop up. Oh thats really cool. I hope everything works out and you can do it. Ireland is a great choice. What made you want to go there? So when you would go to Ireland, you wouldn't be taking any classes?

(1/2) The bolinho de chuva looks really tasty. I'd probably get addicted to making something like that myself if i knew how. And with all that cooking you do for yourself, you can't be that lazy lol. I don't know how much wisdom my words hold, but I do believe that things will work out how they're supposed to. Tbh, I guess I just didn't really have any specific things that popped out to me when I was picking a major. The journalism school at the university I went to was a top notch school, so I think that's why I picked it. I don't think I could have survived an English major, as I don't do nearly enough reading as I think would be required. Your English sounds amazing from what I can tell. Seriously, I hadn't noticed any issues with it, and I still haven't detected anything. But if I do, I will certainly let you know to help you.

I apologize for my donut inquisition haha. I have never heard of bolinho de chuva. As they say, you learn something new every day. So do you make your own bolinho de chuva? I have a degree, and I'm still very unsure of what I really want. I feel like this happens to a lot of people, so don't feel bad. I think things will happen in a certain way and will come together for you in ways that you might not expect. That seems to be what I've gathered from other people's experiences and some of my own. And I'm sure you're a lot more creative than you give yourself credit for, as I know we all tend to sell ourselves short. As for me, I studied Journalism. I don't really like Journalism and I only studied it because I was good in English. During my sophomore year I tried to figure out something else to switch to but came up empty and just finished out my degree. How much schooling do you have left?
