Oh it's completely understandable that life happens, no need to apologise or anything! PJSC tends to be a mixed bag lately, often with a strong round followed by a weaker one (the current one was supposed to be strong... well it's just okay to me). My top 10s tend to consist mostly of songs I've already known, sadly. On the other hand, I came second last round with [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRM4uhhaclg]my first ever repeat[/url] [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFow2Doa8yI]artist[/url] which was my joint highest placing so far. // The run from "Malachite" to "PSI" on Lydia's album is sublime. One of the rare occasions as of late where I agree with Pitchfork, "Hologram" was even awarded a BNT. I've been trying to keep up with this year's albums but my list has 340+ entries so far (and 100+ EPs) so I'm failing miserably. So many releases. Too many releases. What a glorious thing to complain about though!

Right From Real by Lydia Ainsworth is the first thing that comes to my mind. I'll post more suggestions later (tomorrow).

Not sure how you feel about "doom-folk" (UGH! I hate genre tags sometimes) but thought you might appreciate Marissa Nadler's new album 'July' which is currently streaming on [url=http://www.npr.org/2014/01/26/264907890/first-listen-marissa-nadler-july]NPR[/url]. It is being released on Sacred Bones Records and was produced by Randall Dunn who has worked with Sun O))) and Boris amongst others. It's nowhere near on the heaviness scale of those two bands but I'm finding it quite atmospheric. Let me know what you think. // Also, as a side note, I'm really enjoying the album shuffle thread.

Haha! Nine times out of ten you are right about the punctuation in names (how many shit bands have a '!' after their name?, for instance) but Soap&Skin is definitely the one out of ten in this equation. If you can get over the ampersand, I really think you'd dig her.

I still am not convinced about the entire album but "Buzzcut Season" might be my song of the year... in the top 5 at the very least. It reminds me I still have human feelings. "Ribs" might be in the top 20. The sequence from "Royals" to "Team" is wonderful.

I'm afraid I'm not the best person to answer this, it's incredibly hard for me to put feelings into words (in any language). I'd more or less come to terms with that, and the notion that each person's experiences are singular, so basically there's no way for me to fully share my experience with someone. I'm conflicted as to whether to vote for NONONO, not only did they finish quite high in XI, this song is even in high rotation on mainstream radio stations here due to its use in some ad campaign. It didn't really click with me yet, to be honest! It seems very much like a winter album to me.
