Haha, like the dude who attempted to stage dive and landed face first on the floor? I was amazed how he got up and walked away like he wasn't affected. It must of seemed like we were both camouflaged during the show - you being lost in the darkness of the floor and myself being lost in the murkiness of their smoke machines. Nevertheless, it was a real impressive show! I only started at FBi last August. So that name doesn't ring any bells. Hey, hopefully we'll bump into each other at a gig in the near future! (by chance, obviously... Considering that we really don't know each other from a physical level. Haha)

Oh man, I really have to. Although, I wish I went to Coachella this year, too! Also, I am now so, so jealous of you of seeing the Portishead ATP. I'm actually working again this week, so my dreams of travelling have now been rekindled! Oh, wow! When were you interning? You should listen to Canvas! I have art reports go on air every 3 weeks. I also do production for their show, too. Haha, my face is permanently hazy, which makes me hard to miss! Also, I'll be wearing a very, very distinct shirt that I bought from Melbourne - which looks like the tailor was tripping on acid whilst watching Titanic and wanted to capture that precise moment on a silk shirt. I'll also be on the look out for a girl who carries around makeshift binoculars :)

There is no need to be sorry, hey! Whoah, was that the ATP curated by Matt Groening? I would have absolutely love to go to one and the one curated by Jeff Mangum at Minehead. You know, I actually really liked the new Girls album - as it gave great insight to Chris Owen's life when he was in the Children of God cult. I work at FBi in Redfern - doing the allnighters once a fortnight and working on a Sunday arts show - Canvas. You're so lucky to see Michael Rother and Dirty Three! I'm still broke since my last comment, so I missed on both of those acts and The Necks (I also missed them when they supported Swans last year:(). I can't wait for Boris! To conclude, I am terribly sorry that this has turned out to be a lengthy comment without paragraphs. Ahh.

yeah its pretty cool. i still don't know how i feel about it being such a blatant rip off m.i.a. i do kinda like beyonce and its still better than most dance music right now. and i like that the styling of this single have given her decent heels that are okay to dance in. the design of the performance was pretty cool but its a shame the projections weren't interacting with her, that would have been cool. but its definitely better than most pop performances and its good to see them expanding the notion of performance with her interacting with the projections. but yeah. a long way to go i guess. dancing was meh. and i didn't like the dancers outfits, the grand scale made them just a mess from the audiences view. but i am interested in this stuff. thanks for sharing gloz ^.^ how was medium?

Tunng were fun, maybe a little kitsch though. I confess I don't really know their work, just won tickets. Didn't go out sunday. I heard m ward was really good, kinda regretting not going. I saw him at falls a few years back though and it wasn't great, bad sound and a real lack of connection with the audience so I wasn't rushing to see him by myself. Maybe I should have given him a second chance..

So post UK ATPs update: they were amazing though 10 days of ATP (Godspeed/In Between Days/Belle&Seb) gets a little exhausting!

ah gloz i have realised what was going on. the band you know as the books is a different band to the band i know as the books! the band i know was a band in the 80's, their album was expertise it was produced by Colin Thurston and Stephen F. X. Betts was frontman. I can't really find anything else out. I think I'll have to make you a cd so you can tell me if you like it =]

haha! i just saw your message from august, midlake was pretty good. Still liked the van occupanther stuff more than their new album but maybe because I can never listen to their new album because it wont let me upload it to itunes! Anyways, I just keep on wishing that final fantasy will come back to Sydney.

ha, well first of all, Im actually from the Central Coast, so I probably don't know it as well as some of the others. That being said, there is an Ibis Hotel on the main road of Newcastle, I can't imagine it being that expensive there. Anything in the city centre is only a 5-10 minute bus ride away. Also, plenty of pubs with accommodation that are quite cheap, some are right around the corner from the Croat too, so you could walk. How many people will there be? I could ask some people if they have any room, but it might be difficult if there are a few of you, sorry. Have you guys bought yr tickets yet?

Jealous! I read a comment somewhere saying Alps had changed things up a bit, that right? My recent highlights are seeing Shellac (and meeting Steve Albini!!), NOTV playing in an abandoned train carriage, making a Czech friend at a No Age / Abe Vigoda show in Prague and catching one of the Casiotone for the Painfully Alone final tour shows. Museums and sightseeing are pretty wonderful too.

you see i knew i linked the books to you for a good reason. yeah thats weird. if you like books you'd like reels. i think i prefer reels. i think, i'm not sure. i'm definitely up for a january trip to newy. nico finishes uni around the end of nov and im pretty sure i'll be going back forth there quite often before she goes to thailand. i heard your going to woodford for nye?

NO! I wish I did though. I take it you saw him at HOME? I really wanted to go but I had a solo show that night with Palmists which was nice but the fact remains that I didn't see him...I saw a live clip of him playing with Justice Yeldham, it blew my mind away... sighduck, I guess I'll catch him next time. How are things in Ye Old Sydney Town?

I think it will be cd and tape. Yeah, I've only seen clips of Thee Oh Sees but they're so ripping. Also, really keen to see Kitchen's Floor again, I think we might be playing with them in Brisbane in December though. Plus Horse MacGyver, it not much into the whole witch house thing, but I saw him during TINA and it was just so fucking good. Like, unbelievably awesome. Plus Assassins 88! Oh god, I've worked myself up now, ha.

Hey Gloz, Im doing ok. Getting pumped by uni and casual work, and all I want to do is sleep, but those things aside, Im pretty good. Yeah, Im so excited for Summervibes, you gonna make the treck down? There just isn't a single band on the bill Im not into, it's awesome. Plus that's only half the line-up, I have a feeling the next half of the line-up will be sort more ambient stuff, I was talking to Chris and he said there were only a couple more spots left for one stage, and the other is kinda like a little intimate room. Naw, thanks dear. Bummer I had been sick for the few days before, really looking forward to playing our next show. I think it might be in Sydney with No Art? Hopefully our/cd/tape/whatever it is thing will be done by then too.

gloz im confused. i looked through your music to check to see if you know the books and the reels but i could not find them. i was going to say if we ever made a band we would most likely end up sounding like a combination of them. also, you need to get more adam and the ants, how else can you call yourself a dandy highwaymen?

Nice! ATP story swap will definitely have to happen. I went to Berlin last weekend, got my soul eviscerated by Fever Ray (mind blown is overused!). Capital A amazing. I think I'm in love with Karin Dreijer Andersson.
