Hey, you're the only person I'm connected with on Last.fm who has listened to more Dubstar than I have! Hope you're excited about the new album out next month!

oh my god, those VS videos! i'm not sure i should even be admitting this :) are those the ones where nina throws tootsie rolls from her bra? it's possible it's been nearly a decade. i'm not sure i can handle watching. i love nostalgia... but it can be painful.

why thank you :) i used to love this one PW video of him playing unsatisfied--there are a few other videos from the same show, but this user apparently no longer exists.

Heya S, as to Xtina, I wouldn't say aberration, call it a guilty pleasure... and no worries, I have plenty of those myself. JH's new CD?: I've been Blipping the hell out of the record since she 1st gave us the downloads. Love it.... best work JH has done in years. Thanks for stopping by, Cheers!

hey scott, i've been a bit lax on the reply stakes! i remember peoplelikeme or whatever it was, and suspect i recall you, but your profile pic doesn't help :P and yes, that's me: sepulchre, simulacrum, etc :o) are you still keeping up your art? if so, where are you posting it these days?

I am totally the same Marc With a C, and yes, it was a total coincidence (one that kinda just floored me, haha). Case in point: I'm pretty sure that I sent the friend request a day before anyone posted any comments on that article! Also, a bit of trivia about myself: I actually named my daughter after Juliana Hatfield. She's 11 now :)

So have you been listening to "The Valley," or are you in possession of the most steadfast patience of all time?

Completely agree. She's so in her element with Burlesque, while Bionic is so disappointing I'm nearly distressed. How the heck did she go from "Walk Away" to "I Hate Boys?" And she really needs to stop doing all the pre-release hyping. I couldn't help but get caught up in all that Ladytron, Goldfrapp and Santigold namedropping! Anyway... No need for an investigation. There's absolutely nothing to see here. Just move along! ;)

Hey you! Wow, so I just saw your last message with the Frogpond link, sorry. Thanks for the link tho, I will listen to it this afternoon! Whoa, Trip Shakespere at the Ranch Bowl? Are you sure we don't know each other? I'll bet we have at least show in common. Even though I pray for a Sleater-Kinney reunion every night before I go to bed, I have not heard Corin Tucker's new song. I know, for shame, right? I'm glad you like it though! I def'ly trust your taste in music :-) Have you heard Wild Flag? It's Janet and Carrie from SK with Mary Timony and Rebecca from The Minders. I haven't heard that one yet either, but it's on my list. Do you have any more recommendations?

Well, looks like you need a new goal because my stats just PLUMMETED practically overnight. I went from 100/100 and 737/1000 to 66/100 and 239/1000. I listened to Cee-Lo and Christina Aguilera last week and it all went to hell after that! I'm keeping my old scores up though. Ssshhhh. lol. And thanks! Haha. I *still* haven't seen them play live. Still kicking myself for missing the tour with Lovedrug and Pilotdrift.

Uh-o! It's time to pull out my best collection of so-obscure-I-surely-made-them-up bands and get to scrobblin'! *ponders what fake names to re-tag her mp3s with* ;-)

*waves* Hello! Ha, that's hilarious. Definitely more interesting than organizing alphabetically. I never realized that Fiona had a twitter. Sounds like I missed out! And I became addicted to Sia's "Colour the Small One" earlier this year. Haven't even gotten around to checking her other albums out yet.

I've never heard of Frogpond, but I'll look for them online! It's been a LONG time since I lived there, but I remember bands like Mercy Rule, 13 Nightmares, For Against, Cellophane Ceiling, Mousetrap, and Ritual Device. I was in the area when 311 was starting to be a thing, but I never saw them live. I like Connor Oberst and Rilo Kiley a lot nowadays. Ah, memories! I feel like I should go listen to some For Against :-) I was trying to think of some other bands from that area and I remember a 7" I had by Full Fathom Five...from Iowa City, I think? I liked the single, but I'm not sure if I've ever seen them.

O hey, I forgot to reply to you, sorry! I wasn't a huge HoLS fan or anything (I'm not even sure if I have one of their CDs anymore), but I have fond memories of a lot of those bands from Iowa and Nebraska. I met them after they did a music industry panel at a weekend show in Lincoln and they were all super nice and supportive of local music. So yeah, anyone that likes them is ok by me :-)

Just checked out your website - that's an awesome resource. I don't have all the EPs, but I have the three albums and the Octopus EP, and I think one of Jodi's solo albums is sitting in a box in my parent's garage. I'd say Thunderhead is my favourite, but I should listen to all of them more often. Cheers!

Cool man. How do you know them? Were they big in the States? I grew up in Australia, so I heard them all the time on college radio...
