Only know Window and the Watcher, but their other new songs sounded pretty good when they played them live, and props to you for listening to triplej, many people hate that station.

(I sent you a PM with my email). Also I definately know porcupine tree, and they have a unique sound for sure, it's pretty good but their sound is so depressing at length - at least to me.

Heard most of them, and I must say I'm not too crazy about the bands, they feel sort of uninspired. But then again lately I've also been listening to a somewhat different section of rock. Couldn't get a hold of any Depswa though, so if you wanna send me a track over msn or email that would be great

I know and have heard most of those unfortunately. But I never gave shihad a listen (due to their name) so I guess I will now. And yeah Karnivool are pretty good but their songs sound very alike.

By the way if you wanna recommend me some bands feel free to go for it, I can always use new music!

Yeah australian rock has a very echoing light sort of sound, while seattle rock is usually more traditionally rock oriented.

Yeah right you are, but a lot of bands tend to have a sound influenced by the area they're from I think.

The dandy warhols have some weird shit going on but some of it is cool, try the track Nietzsche. Autolux, Life of agony (not as emo as it sounds). On an older note, Dredg, Soundgarden, Idiot Pilot and Editors. That's what I can think of off the top of my head :)

I don't know exactly if they're so much to your liking but I can mention some I'm fond of these days and you can see for yourself...

Yeah, nothing much I guess, turned 19 and I still haven't bothered getting a driver's license. And I guess started exploring the rock genre a little more lately, there's a lot of interesting bands out there.

Was a phenominal gig, I was pissed off due to missing out on seeing them earlier @ BDO. DLC were great too, love their EP. Just can't get enough of it! My only disappointment was really the crowd for Chevelle. Everyone just twiddled their thumbs... even when Vitamin R was pumped! Sheltered Canberra people don't know what they are missing out on!

Fair! First Canberran neighbour I've seen with good music taste. I noticed your going to Grinspoon!? I'm sure it will be great but nothing will come close to the last Butterfly effect gig @ ANU.By chance did you happen to go? Was sooo wicked.

Well to be honest the Australian music scene is insane right now so I keep up on it pretty well. I can't import stuff because of the price.. but I get all my music through a more frowned upon source =0 a certain private music community OiNK

Hey, how was your day? I'm still slightly hung over, Magic Dirt were awesome last night, lots of heavy guitars and feedback, so happy they've gone back to writing dark and heavy stuff.

I've only heard a little bit of their stuff a few years ago, not sure what they're like now. Haven't listened to grinspoon for ages either.

Seeing Magic Dirt at unibar tomorrow night, their new stuff is awesome, gone back to their early days of dirty rock, will be sweet. Heading to Brisbane in a month for Dead Letter Circus and Bushido, can't wait to get back up there! Didn't know Grinspoon were coming here, will add to list of gigs :)
