Sorry for being slow. I rarely log in to this page. In my opinion, Strange Days is the best Doors album. Because it's the one that feels the most as a whole to me. And the songs on it are all among my favourites. My 2nd favourite is The Doors (their debut), which is, perhaps, the album that defines The Doors. Light My Fire IS (at least in public opinion) The Doors. These two albums have the

old-school Doors sound that I love. More controversially, perhaps, I feel that Waiting for the Sun is their third best. As a whole, it's not as good, but the tracks themselves are awesome. It's got that magic summer feeling, and it's great to listen to while just chilling in the sun.

Although Waiting for the Sun on Morrison is one of my top 5 Doors songs. And, of course, there is The Soft Parade. Some love it, some hate it. I think it's OK. Some of the songs are pretty bad but a few of them are really, really good. If you want to dig deeper, their live stuff is fucking A.

did some last night. level 3. It was fucking amazing. there was 4 of us (all very close friends) with 1 guy at a time hitting the bong. pink floyd in the background, but it soon phased out as I began to realise my body was so heavy couldn't talk. I closed my eyes because everything was cut into blocks. Amazing closed eye visuals and hysterics. Next sunny day we're going up to the hill

I can upload the Generic album for you, if you want. It's pretty damn good. It's sloppy, but in a really refreshing way.

Where the hell did all my fellow late night listeners go? I feel like I'm rocking out all by myself. Which is actually the case, I suppose.

I just got into Ween a few months ago with Pure Guava and was hooked. It only got worse after I listened to The Mollusk. Whimsical, weird music on that album.

It's pretty great. Maybe their best, definitely in the top 2 with the s/t. I like Raw Power, but I haven't really listened to it enough to rank it with the others. I still have to hear The Idiot too. I PM'd you a link to Funhouse.

wow, sounds like someone had a good trip. I tried when I quite inexperienced and ended up coughing it out of the pipe. I just got really angry at my dick head 'friend' that thought it would enhance it by being really stereotypically hey joe, you alright and waving his hands in my face. My other (good) friend said he felt it was like he was falling down a roller coaster or something

I was seriously considering growing my own (only mild Thai ones) as they are really hard to come by in British drug culture. Apparently liberty caps are rife in the country side but I do not want to risk anything at all. Chris (The Iowan) has grwon before so i'd be doing it with him. Obviously I will not take your advice about keeping it easy too lightly. I want to enhance my life, not fuck it up.

Frosting is (by far) their best, although all of their other releases have some good songs. They were a lot of fun live--everything is harder and crunchier than on the albums. Re; 23, there's all kinds of spooky mythology built up around it. See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/23_(numerology)

I don't know about dried ones, i've only eaten fresh ones. My uni friends from Iowa have done loads in the states; they're traveling at present. How long does a few grams dried trip last? for 30 grams fresh, it's a good 6 hours with a lot of variables; one of which being if you smoke a massive joint as you're coming down. epic!

Ex-girlfriend was a big fan of The Posies (we met at a show), who had an album Dear 23. We started using 23 in various things (lock combinations, etc.) and it has just stuck with me even though I haven't seen her in 10 years. The name rockrobster (with no number) was already taken--by someone who never listened to anything.

true, also be aware of the power of Elektra, one of the first labels to utilize direct approach (towards specific clusters of (potential) customers <= scenes, subcultures). What I'm trying to say is that Elektra was actually a commercial company, the band signed for that and who can blame 'em? Same happened to Brian Jones' band.. and a certain mr. Jagger

Yeah, I liked the film. But Morrison wasn't nearly as deep as he wanted everybody to think. He might have gotten there if he hadn't dived into a bottle the second he got famous.

I have a complicated relationship to The Doors. Love Jim's voice, hate the rinky-dink organ sound. Lyrics are occasionally comically pretentious. I was a fan as a kid, but had a moment when I just realized their limitations and couldn't live with them anymore. That said, Jim is still one of my favorite singers, and I wish he had had a different band. Perhaps the Rolling Stones.

I've never heard any of Ginn's solo stuff. Was never a big Black Flag fan--it's the sludgy guitar sound, I think. They have some great songs, though. Just can't get through a whole album.

Cool, I'll have to check that out. You're Living All Over Me is Probably one of my top ten favorite albums of all time, so something like that should be great. Thanks for the suggestion.

No, but I heard it wasn't very good. Got a 3 from AMG, one of the few review sites I trust. I have YLAOM, Bug and Beyond, and adore those three. Should I give the s/t a listen?

It's because I'm old. Most people's taste gets more conventional as they age, but I'm part of the subset whose taste gets weirder/broader. If you stop seeking, you stop finding.
