You should definitely try some Ben Frost. I've yet to listen to anything by him that is less than good.

Kind of melancholic Post-Rock, I've only heard two albums. The first, an older one, was good: 4/5. The one from this year not so much. They're not a band that I would immediately recommend to you. I don't think Post-Rock is amongst your favourite genres is it?

Personal taste and context count for so much. I've listened to several supposedly canonical albums that I just found to be, OK.

I've encountered my first album that has a 1,2,3,4 & 5 star tune on it. It's by the Eurythmics.

When I get a 128GB phone, my first 'listening project' will be to revisit all the 4.5 albums. I figure that a few of them will turn out to be 5s.

Senni is nice enough. Can't say I'm really loving it. Not yet anyway. Don't go for any of the shit that U2 put out in later years. It would put you off for life.

There's so much variability in artists. The John Grant & Disclosure albums are both significantly worst than their last efforts.

I'm yet to do the final review, but I'm pretty sure Alva Noto will come out on top. I remember sitting on the beach in Germany, watching the family playing in the sea, with it playing loud in the cans.

Where did you get the data for number of tracks in a year? iTunes? I can only see how to get number of scrobbles in a year from last.fm. I'm consistently about 5k behind you, which is 15-20k per year.

Yeah, like you, I don't like listening to become a chore, so I would rather have less in my library and go back to some old albums if I have spare time.

The 2 8 1 4 album is like a puff of smoke - vaporwave is a good name for the genre. It's at about 15 plays, and I'm only just getting to grips with it.
