Rae, can you do me a favor? Can you watch this and tell me what Feist thinks of Obama? The version available to me here in America cuts off right before they get to his minute dealy. I've been really curious, although I have a good guess as to what she'll say: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WbeipQaUmk&list_pxtube=WL6B44EAA1D9A25CD4

Why thank for the FR ~ I ventured over to the youtube link you have posted and found this lovely artist singing covers. I'm also a big fan on Soundcloud [https://soundcloud.com/bobcrabtree] and followed a link to the same person ~ so the really stupid question ~ is that you? If so, I've been enjoying your work and uploads. And if not, well you'll probably set me straight...

Hmm... where to start... Well, going in to this, I was determined to a) have a good time and b) meet her AGAIN. I get in to Austin around noon, and I've had very little water. I leave my car with the hotel, and walk around to get a lay of the land. It was my first time to actually be in Austin, been through a few times but I've never actually looked around. I went to Waterloo, a huge record store, in the northwestern part of Austin, and that was roughly a one and a half mile walk with the sun bearing its hot gaze upon the earth. I was sweating. A lot. Way too much. I was getting dehydrated and fast. By the time I get back to my hotel and officially check in, I'm seeing things wave around like heatwaves. I cool off and take a shower, and in about an hour, I leave the hotel and walk to wait in line at the venue. I get there at 4:30, and surprisingly, there's like 5 people already there. I sit down and make small talk. I peak around the corner to get a look at her bus, and I see her walk

up a walkway, and this was just simply surreal. She may or may not have glared at me through her Ray Bans, but I don't think she noticed me. I had to do a double take. Part of me wanted to yell her name, and the other part said "Don't, security's gonna rip your throat out." She was talking to her three guards, and she didn't look too happy when I got a look; she had a strong frown. Anyway, I just go back to sit in line. Fast forward 2 hours, and the line's down the block; felt good to be there early. Got to know a couple of girls behind me, so that was cool. I get in the very front, like my stomach against the barricade. I was getting worse on the dehydration side, but the guard spotted me two bottles of water. Sweet. Staying conscious. After it's over, I try yelling for her a few times, and figured out that isn't going to work. So I walk around the corner to wait in front of her bus, and there's 5 others there before me so I didn't feel like a complete stalker! Fast forward an hour

and she finally arrives with a tote bag filled with hard liquor. I muttered "Jesus Christ." She offloads it to whom I think was her manager, Bender... (she introduced me to him, and that's what he said his name was lol). I brought a lot of promo CDs, my signed Monarch she did last time and my album cover in hopes it would jog her memory. When she got to me I said "Hey Leslie, do you remember me by chance?" She looked confused, so I quickly produced Monarch and my drawing. I think it kinda helped her out, she claimed she remembered me (I think she was just saying that to make me feel better lol). I gave her my fat stack of memorabilia and told her up front I had so many questions. She went through the mass amount of CDs I brought along, and was answering my questions along the way. She was quite amused. More so when she saw I had a Feistodon copy signed by every member of Mastodon. She introduced me to another guy, whom I think was roadie. Honestly for the first convo, it felt like

ten or more minutes. I kept asking questions about each CD. I told her I was in the middle of chopping and screwing the Reminder, and she had never heard of that technique before. She didn't skip a beat to tell Bender I was in the middle of "chopping and serving" it. She looked to me to correct her, and I did. Bender claimed to be familiar with the technique. She asked me to explain it to her, and I was hoping she wouldn't because it's, you know, difficult to explain. As I was explaining it, in layman's terms, she was getting confused and then Bender's trying to push her to move on to other people and she tells me she'll come back to me later and Bender repeats "WE'LL COME BACK TO YOU LATER." So I'm like, "k." I sit down to breathe because I feel like I'm on the verge of passing out, but I fight it. She spends like 20 minutes getting through the line, and then when she finishes she waltzes back to me and she's like "So Cameron! What else can I do for ya?!" I tell her I have a few more

questions. So I ask them, and just try to make jovial, normal conversation with her, and keep my cool, and that takes around fifteen minutes or so. She introduces me to her ex-pat Canadian friend who told me he'd moved to Austin 6 years ago; he seemed a little bitter lol. As I decide to cap it off, she says she's gonna catch up with this guy. She shakes my hand and tells me she enjoyed my obscure questions. And then I tell her maybe I'll see you at Sasquatch! Then she asks me about that (she seemed genuinely unaware that she was playing that; odd). I tell her I got VIP. She asks how'd you do that. I then go off in to a spiel about how I'm taking time off from school right now and had a $1000 lying around and so on and so forth. She seemed genuinely curious, so I obliged. Bender interjects "That cost $1000? Wow." then he just nodded his head. Finally, I get to cap it off, I tell her we might run in to each other there, and tell her happy belated birthday and then proceed to go collapse
