I feel like my music library is going to start looking suspiciously similar to yours more and more as time goes on... Not that it's a bad thing. Thanks for the new and different! I'm still at a loss as to what the heck I like that I could share with you in any meaningful way, boooo. Happy Friday, my dear! /smoosh-hug

I think the best part of subscription is seeing who's dropping by your profile. And I think there's less advertising, but I don't really remember. I've been throwing money at Audioscrobbler/Last.fm since 2004. Yay, new musics! I would suggest Louise Attaque's first album, self-titled, over what you actually downloaded from me. It's rawer, less poppy.

Again, no worries. Easiest way to avoid shouting at yourself is to hit the "Reply" link below the shout you're replying to :) If you can't find any Frank Morey around and about to listen to, I think I have some to send, if I can find my CDs. He's more of a musician I'm used to hearing play at the bar, rather than one I listen to much of at home. You should pop by the Plough & Stars for a beer when he's on some Sunday night. It's nice and pretty low-key.

:-) haha. cool that you're going, you will have a blast and see Munly who is very very fascinating to look at. yeah, definitely more on the "music is transcendent" side but they do kind of blur the line a little bit. kind of like a pretend revival, a little tongue-in-cheek but a bit serious. i do sort of like the idea of being in a "church" where everyone knows they're just pretending and having fun. Goofy indeed! will check out your rec when i get home, thanks!

It's entirely possible I will see you there, yes. I will be drinking beer and probably screaming crazily :) The reason I ask about EN isn't due to their random arty subculturishness; it's that their singer is Blixa Bargeld, who played guitar for the Bad Seeds for about 20 years (and is the person he sings a duet with on "The Weeping Song"). I figured it'd be likely that you would know them... I find that people who have a love for Mr. Cave tend to explore all of the branches of musical connections to him (PJ Harvey, Mick Harvey's solo stuff, Roland Howard, Neubauten, Die Haut, Anita Lane, The Birthday Party, Crime & the City Solution, etc.). I actually discovered Nick through Neubauten, when I think most people discover Neubauten through NIck, hehe :)

I've only seen the Bad Seeds once, and that was a couple of years ago in Amsterdam, because he happened to be playing there when I was backpacking through Europe (lucky coincidence). I cried like a little sissy for portions of his set, it was that good. I haven't seen Grinderman live, so I'm excited over that aspect as well. I plan on camping out by the bus after the show to meet him; I'm that kind of fan. Really, it usually works! I've met a ton of performers that way, and how epic would it be to have a picture with Nick Cave?
