Chuzzzlewit NICE. Youtube actually did a good job and randomly recommended their album to me. They are the closest thing to The Secret Stars that I have ever been able to find. I took a dig and saw you don't have any plays of The Secret Stars - Genealogies or their Cassette tape. Both are on youtube so give them a listen if you haven't yet! God tier lofi wankery, especially the casette which has the most pathetic whimpy lead guitar tone ever. It's great.

I was dissapointed of the covers, too. Especially that the Raein Song isn't featured on it. They didn't finished the recordings in time if I'm right. Anyhow as you said they lost a lot of the aggressive, powerfull style and noone tried to rearrange the songs as well. But I've read that Ebulliution Records are repressing Orchids Chaos Is Me and Dance Tonight.. right now which makes me really happy cause I can save some money. Can I ask what you payed for the JD records specially the orchid split? It seems like it has become the holy grail in the screamo scene. I saw a lot of biding wars on ebay about that....
