I kind of want to show my mother your avatar... I've got piercings and she's like "YOU CAN NEVER BE EXPECTED TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY AS A PROFESSIONAL."

Sounds fairly good. Uni's v. stressful atm with exams and I'm finding myself doing last-minute essays like always >:(. Definitely enjoying it 200% better than last year though. Haven't used KG and Secret Cinema properly yet - will let you know how it turns out.

Oh, also, how's uni? Do you have exams, or do honours students just do a thesis? What's yours on??

Haha, I read something about sampling the Rugrats theme. I wouldn't say no to that. New discoveries haven't been too major at the moment, but I'm liking Bedhead's What Fun Life Was and Bardo Pond's Amanita a lot. Former are maybe better than Red House Painters and the latter is like the only psychedelic rock I like atm. Good to see Gillian Welch plays continuing - I've been loving her a lot lately. Red Clay Halo and Elvis Presley Blues are just perfect.

*Is* so shit. Some family-related stuff happened and I needed to start to support myself completely so worked full-time. Now uni is about to go back I will cut back working dramatically though, so I'm at least trying to be a little more optimistic now. My uni gave me a scholarship too, which helps. How was your summer? + when do you finish studying?

Just sent an email to a friend that was there and asked him if I was carrying on a bit about it – you know, that maybe it was good but not as amazing as I thought. He said that it was, in fact, fantastic and possibly the best festival ever. I know it sounds mad, but a lot of us are saying it. As the review in today’s ‘The Australian’ says: “But for all the many and varied highlights, ATP was infinitely greater than the sum of its parts. The music, the vistas, the people, the atmosphere: for all those lucky enough to attend the inaugural Australian ATP, this was an event to cherish forever”.

I think you mean Matthaus-Passion. But the Cello Suites are certainly better than most things ever.

It's really great. It has in-built iTunes and inbuilt Firefox - I'm just running the browser through the program atm. It looks kinda like iTunes but better. And you can download a plug-in that shows the lyrics to the song your playing in the sidebar, except I don't speak Portuguese so it's not helping too much atm.

Sounds pretty good, are you going to the ATP fest when it comes around? I think Brisbane will end up getting a pretty bad lineup, but we'll wait and see. At uni I'm studying journalism, which sounds fair enough in premise, but it really feels like such a bad course atm. Have to do so much pointless shit and I'd rather be doing something else; so I'm not sure whether just to continue on, hope it gets better, and at least leave with a degree in 2 years, or change my course next year (to what, I don't know). I got some thinking to do and not a lot of motivation to do it, haha.

Yeah, it's hard to believe I've listened to that much music in the last few years.

Looks like it. My hiatus was mainly due to my computer dying. Other than that just uni, sleeping, eating and etc.

Oh. Great... Nice. Awesome. ANYWAY, I agree @ the gospel. You should get Johnny Cash's stuff too, btw, it's pretty fun. Also, I turned Pitchfork like crazy this year and started really liking the new Fleet Foxes album and EP. That stuff has a definite Americana/gospel feel to it. There's like three tracks on the Sun Giant EP that are among my favourites of the year so far, for sure. So maybe be an indie fanboy like me and listen to that, too. Yay for Jesus.

Yeah, I guess so. I sorta rely on it to sort my listening habits etc, really. Glad you liked Elvis, it's hell addictive. And no, haven't heard the Sam Cooke stuff. I only recently downloaded that live album that everybody raves about. But anyway, if it's good I'll be on the lookout for it, seeming gospel in a catalog usually > everything else. More importantly, did you hear/happen to watch the Big Brother housemates being "hypnotized". If not, you don't want to hear about it. Just start crying right now.

Dunno really, a heap of my reviews and board posts got deleted though. I guess people didn't appreciate getting told their threads are shitty. But seriously, they were.
