Nearly 500K unique artists - wow! That's remarkable. It's taken me years to get 140K artists - a lot of work.It took Roamin years to reach 200K and it looks like he has mostly quit scrobbling since reaching 200K. I think you must have the highest artist count of anybody on last.fm. Congrats

No problem! Though I compiled the list of users programmatically by going through friends lists with the Last.FM API, there is no way I know of to actually search for the user with the most artists. But it seems likely there is no one with more. In regards to the other values, there should be a description in the "key" tab for what each of them mean.

Thanks. Your spreadsheet is amazing. I see that there are users w a lot more scrobbles than me, 8 or 9 million; which is amazing as I have basically had itunes playing nearly constantly for 19 years. that's the way I played it even before I discovered last.fm. Anyway - great information there. I'll just say one thing - I am impressed with the nineteen people ahead of me, including you, as far as artist count is concerned. It took years and a lot of work getting my artist count where it is - and it has been a good experience - I never realized how many high quality and interesting musicians and bands are out there. BTW - when I finally hit 2 million scrobbles I stopped leaving itunes playing constantly. there's not much chance of ever reaching 3 million.

Bear in mind that some users on that list above you are not people. l_user_ for instance records plays on a music application, IIRC. And some people fake or inflate their scrobbles. In my case I have a script that cycles through Spotify's track 'previews', which most spotify songs have and is supposed to be a good representation of the song. Of course, it's not the best way to discover some styles of music, but it's interesting to quickly cycle through what's out there and on balance I love it. Getting to >100k artists completely 'legit' is crazy impressive so hats off to you and efoja.

Hi folks, sorry for not attending to this shoutbox in a while. For folks below who have been wondering about the weird song selection recently is that I've been listening to a lot of songs with my kid, hence the abundance of children's songs. I also have some cleaning up to do because I see that some podcasts have been scrobbled here by mistake. Though I will keep the children's songs since they still capture what I listen to most of the time, even though it adds noise to the artists/albums that I listen to on my own.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. Yeah last.fm hasn't been working correctly for a while for users with really large number of artists in their library, which is why you might have though that something is off. I actually now caught that the artist number is a bit inflated due to falsely scrobbled podcasts, but I'll clean them up (I still expect it to stay 350K+).
