Hey Ed you should definatley try some PUGWASH. Have you also heard L.E.O's "ALPACAS ORGLING" yet. And yes , that L.E.O..... bandname......it is what it sounds like. It'll keep your ELO juices flowing until Jeff's ready to produce!! Intelligent tuneful respectful homage to jeff and the lads.You can get it on I-tunes. Well worth a listen.

The seed of all that Jeff would become, for me, is in END OF THE ROAD. Love it. Very underrated band wouldn't you say? Can't remember where i bought my IDLE RACE stuff. Could have ben Amazon. Remember getting some early stuff from the music specialists MAGPIE. wonder if they're still around? Jesus i wish Jeff would get up shake himself down ang get back into the damn studio!

By the by, PUGWASH releasing their first album over here very soon. It's called GIDDY, and is a collection of their best tracks as an introduction to those who have not been firmly PUGGED yet. Brilliant 60's Peppery image on the front and back. On APE records.

Just when you think it's all over....Apple come up with this. It never ends. Not that i'm knocking it of course. Remember when "1" came out. Top of the album charts for 12 weeks over here. Did well where you are too, i seem to remember. Great advertising campaign. Huge red billboards with Beatle song titles. Nothing else, but it said it all. Driving through town......"There's one!" GET BACK. Dayglow Yellow on red. Can imagine more ignorant types driving past and thinking "what the hell is that"

Yup . probably right about those slipcases. I got a Tom Petty album, "Hihway Companion " and it's a bugger to yank out!!1 Still, i got the original vinyl albums, the original cd's and now slipcase, never mind!! Can't wait to hear certain albums!!! REVOLVER, SGT.PEPPER, RUBBER SOUL THE WHITE ALBUM, hopefully will sound wonderful. Methinks that all this is definatley preparing the way for a release on I-Tunes.

MUD! Ah.....totally different from my other music gods. Little 70's rock and roll band that got lumped in with all the GLAM fever but managed to raise their heads above the quagmire of glitter and spangle. tight intelligent 4 peice rock and roll band who had a lot of hits but now see to have faded from the collective rock memory. Well i won't forget 'em!! Give them a try!! spread the mud wide!!

great news. they deserve to get somewhere. the compilation of tracks sounds interesting. Saw the photos of the guys signing the contracts with andy partridge on their site. Neil hannon acted a a witness. even though i've downloaded all three albums off i-tunes, i am getting this maddening itch!! want to own the real thing!!

Pugwash....They are really good aren't they? Vastly underrated. Think they're on some tiny independent Irish label called 1969.......Like you, i prefer to buy the solid three dimensional album, but downloaded all three albums off I-Tunes. As for the Beatles, well Macca hinted that it was EMI causing the delays with regards to I-Tunes and he seems in favour of it. I just want the albums remastered. It's long over due, and i will be buying them if they are. Merry Christmas!!!

can't wait for the i-tunes deal to go through. all the albums are going to be remastered and they need remastering!! cd's are so cold and clinical. all the music in one speaker and the vocals in another. george martin's fault! when i was a kid i'd unplug one speaker and play beatle tracks as instrumentals!! works perfectly!

They are indeed great albums. I've still got my original Sgt.peppers with the sheet of cutouts(sgt pepper's moustache, his arm pelmets, the badge.) the white album with it's four groovy photographs and huge poster(no number on the cover though, alas, too young) Those albums are reminders of my life!! seriously, where i was , what i was doing. So very glad i discovered them at an early age. It was an american who first introduced me to them!! a school chum called scott barnett. we were both 12 and he had a copy of an american beatle album called Hey jude , never available in this country. Capitol records in the us had an annoying habit of pulling tracks off beatle albums, hoarding them, and when they had collected around 10 tracks would release them as a collection of new beatle songs! You had more beatle albums than us over there, hey jude being one of them. . As for George, i love all things too. play wah wah almost every day on the old i-pod.

As for Idle Race and The Move, I like them both although I prefer Idle Race. My suggestion would be to start with Idle Race's Back to the Story compilation. You can get it for $20 and it's got everything you'd probably want to hear. For the Move, I recommend Best of (1966-1972) and then Message From the Country. These were my favorites... but I like less Roy Wood and more Jeff Lynne...
