i hurd what you said on the 3 december in the GD hating group and i totaly agree with you they jest lisen to GD because there frends do so it makes them cool but if everyone started to like some other group no one would give a fuck about GD thats why bands like metalica have less fans but better ones cos they stand up for them and dont jest change there opinion because someone told them they were shit or made fun of them because they lisen to them.

Well if thats the case then I think Hobart should have got a team. And anyway I would say that that is strengthening anyway. See what the NRL has done with the Gold Coast. Sure it was an area already interested, but they've used them to generate money and make the league stronger. If they can get another lot of members in Tas then it would strengthen the league definitely. And I'm still sticking with St Kilda!!! They might have choked it but that is no reason to say that they won't this year!! I think Nick Riewoldt is a great player as well.

lol if St Kilda do win you're gonna regret saying that - maybe all these average players will work together well as a team!!!! ;-) also yeh a Tasmania team would be cool, but crowds in Tassie are only like 20,000 which is low for AFL. in the past though there has been a strategy of two clubs in one city fuels rivalry and therefore the game. See Perth and Adelaide. The two extra teams would create rivalry, a derby, more coverage (twice as much?) and therefore might actually help the code in those two cities. also read today that the bulldogs are in trouble with the Victoria gov....

lol, I haven't a clue. Geelong Cats were really unlucky though as they were the best team during the whole season and then messed it up in the final match (but they did win in 2007 anyways!). FIne I will go for St Kilda because they looked very good against Hawthorn last season and they finished 4th, losing to Cats in finals. Haven't a clue where Collingwood will finish, it's hard to follow events between seasons. Then again couldn't the Gold Coast win? Aren't they starting next season or is it the season after that... what do you think of them by the way, baring in mind that Tasmania want a team. I know a few GC Titans fans that think the AFL are being arrogant and that it will fail. Nevertheless in my opinion, generally the more teams in a competition, the better the competition will be and so GC and Western Sydney should make the comp better with more matches.

Well yeh would be with so many teams. I'm surprised that 9 can survive in a city of only like 3.5-4m. Also I will try and track the matches down but doubt I will have any luck, I use torrents see and they "die" after around 3-4 weeks after the game. Anyway the new season is like March or April isn't it? Who do you will win win and where do you think Collingwood will finish?

Oh yer I know about Collingwood. Richmond, Essendon, Carlton - they all HATE Collingwood! I think it's great that there are so many Melbourne teams because theres a huge amount of rivalry, and some games get like 80,000 people, which is even bigger than the Premier League over here. How did I get into AFL? Well I watch alot of NRL and I once asked an Australian online "Why isn't NRL very popular in Melbourne?", he replied "AFL" and so I decided to have a lil look at what this AFL game was. I watched on YouTube and really liked it. To be honest it was the marking that I liked the most, basically jumping on top of the guy to grab the ball!!! We have nothing like that over here. So downloaded the Hawks v Adelaide match, which at the time I thought the whole atmosphere and fans was very weird (I later found out it was because it was played in Tasmania!) and have watched every Hawks match since. Takes about 2-4 hours to download a match but it's worth it. I presume you were born into AFL?

hey mate thanks for accepting me into the AFL group. I have only just started to get into the game this year as I illegally downloaded every single Hawthorn Hawks game!!! I still don't get all the rules but hey, I love the marking and the tackling!! Although I also like NRL and Super League Europe too ;-) . Anyway what team do you support?

Did you watch the grand final yesterday? It was disappointing to have seen Geelong get so far and losing only 1 game in the season (vs Collingwood) only to lose at the Grand Final. I think the Refs out there were a bit crap in some of the calls that they made but oh well. I can't wait till it starts again next year.

Damn, seems as if Collingwood are out and so are the Sydney Swans, the two teams I was hoping would get through. =(

Yeah. Geelong are absolutely dominating the competition this year. One thing that annoyed me was when Geelong versed the Dockers and that Solomon guy elbowed Ling in the face. The way Dockers played was an example of how AFL shouldn't be played. I am hoping that either Collingwood or Geelong will win it this year since both teams deserve it IMO.

Oh yeah, Hawthorn and Geelong would be a great game. I think an interesting game would be Swans vs Collingwood if they ever face each other.

Well if Collingwood lift their second half of the game up, then they might have a chance over Hawthorn. I am hoping that Geelong and Collingwood will meet each other at the final. That would be one hell of a game.
