In regards to your comment about The Mars Voltas last two albums, I suggest you listen to them again after a while. I used to disagree with you, but recently relistened to them and they definitely have their place in The Mars Volta history. And not in the way the that The Final Cut or Momentary Lapse of Reason (and in my personal opinion The Wall) have a place in the Pink Floyd discography, but something much more. Also, they couldn't have left us with Bedlam. That wouldn't be fair. To have that as a last album would be too much of a kick in the face to the fans.

Presto has a few of my favourite tracks! Chain Lightning and Red Tide are great. It's funny, even an album that is "bad" in Rush terms can have many fantastic tracks. The bar is so high. It's funny you should mention T4E, I don't think I've ever heard anyone say they like that one in particular. I agree about the first album

I have never been able to answer that question, depends on the day! Permanent Waves, Grace Under Pressure, Power Windows and Clockwork Angels are imo the ones closest to perfection. I'm not *that* fond of some of the albums before Hemispheres, but I think Test for Echo is the only one I could say isn't that great, and even that has a couple of good tunes. What are yours?

i dont understand why often people like Taboo & Exile more than Music for Children - three naked city-style Prelapse's songs + the AWESOMEness of "Dreamer of Dreams" and also very beautiful "Sooki's Lullaby" are pretty good reasons to choose MfC imho. Though yes, Taboo has pretty much things on it while doesn't having pointless "cycles du nord", and The Possesed is very great .. while "tiki of blue" is much weaker than "dreamer.."

Hi there! So what's a good starting point with Zappa? His catalog is huge, I was also surprised to see that Vai played with Zappa too. I just knew about his stuff with Whitesnake. If you like Death you need to hear Scream Bloody Gore and Leprosy, those are my favorites from them.

I loved it! The energy, the attitude, the experimentation! The details, the flow between the tracks, the humor - this is certainly a well thought-out and pure VdGG album, despite not soudning like classic VdGG - a lot of people can't grasp that, it's very subjective, but that's what I believe: this is the essence of VdGG - and change and experimentation is a part of this essence.
