those sound interesting. i prefer to kick back and watch on the tube not the comp. watching a few fansubbed paranoia agent episodes on youtube helped me understand certain parts but i couldn't do it for an entire series. never heard of crunchyroll though. i'll check it out.

yea i was thinking about getting it. i got a bunch of gift cards from amazon so i'm splurging. a lot of stuff is out of print though. anime isn't nearly as big here as it used to be.

it's been so long since i've listened to jazzanova's latest. see you love the song they did with leon ware. it's a nice remake of a song he did a while ago. you should check out his musical massage album. it's REALLY good. definitely one of my favorite soul records.

I'm definitely gonna be hurting in the jazz section.I had a lot of Dave Brubeck, Jazz Messengers, and Stan Getz shit that I'd need to get back. I'm probably gonna have to start getting my old school prog rock stuff back too (King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Yezda Urfa, Focus, etc.)

yep you really should check paranoia agent out. think you'll enjoy it. thanks for mentioning perfect blue. i've had it laying around and just finally decided to watch it. i really like it. probably will have to watch it again to get a better idea of how rumi influenced me-mania. i want to watch paprika too so that might be my next one. haha dirty manga? i got nothing against it since i'm an open-minded cat. but the only dirty...well, kinda disgusting one i've read was koroshiya ichi. i like it more than the live-action movie even though the guy who plays the lead character in the movie does a really good job. i like mara hruby's voice. i'm not a huge fan yet but she sounds nice enough to me. and DEFINITELY read the sandman series. it's my favorite piece of fiction. i read it yearly. i don't think i'll ever get tired of reading it.

hah there's nothing wrong with being dorky. what some folks consider dorky...anime, comics...i'm definitely into. nowadays i prefer to let music wash over me without considering how effective it is at doing what it does. nothing wrong with doing so of course :) mentioning poyser makes me wonder how yahzarah would sound with the soulquarians backing her. too bad we'll never really know with dilla's passing. but i think zo!/nicolay are doing wonderful things with yahzarah and a second album with them should be good. as for toki....it's funny, i feel like watching samurai champloo or listening to one of its soundtracks whenever i listen to her. do you think blu would use one of her beats as he did flylo?

i used to be that way when i wrote reviews on a daily basis years ago. it got to a point where i couldn't really enjoy music. i would just wonder how i would review each thing i listened to. it took a while to get out of that mindset. maybe toki will outshine flylo. think she's where he was between 1983 and LA. who else do you think yahzarah should work with?

interesting you ranked toki over flylo. i think she still can develop her sound more. i forgot how much i liked that jansport j album. that's my problem with doing year-end lists. it's easy to overlook certain things. how long did it take to put your best-of together? and you may be one of the only few to give yahzarah any mention so that gets a lot of love from me.
