I actually really like that song, and think he gives some other dimensions to the album, I do agree about the fact it's a direct continuation to NITND, but in a lil better vibe.. all in all, I am pleased with this new album they made :-)

watch out, we've got very similar taste over here ;d if you like brutal death-doom sounds from old Katatonia's or Anathema's recordings I suggest you should try October Tide ;) on Rain Without End you'll find harsh Renkse's vocals, on Grey Down Akerfeldt's vocals and also there's one quite new awesome record - A Thin Shell with the current vocalist ;p good band but underrated.
