Your taste in music is wonderfully great, though that's perhaps a compliment towards myself considering our tastes are pretty similar and marked "super," ha. ...but in any case, I hope that you're having a wonderful day as well!

('specially the one linked via "amazing". Goddamn the second song in that is repeat playable (Season Sayonara). On my bike ride back up to mine today, it came up and I believe I repeat-played it about 7 times before finally reaching home and stopping the insanity.)

If you look at my charts, you'll obviously have noticed a seemingly neverending obsession with Shiina Ringo and her band Tokyo Jihen. It's well well deserved, they're amazing. Simply wonderful. Better than Timberlake. If you want, I'll burn a whole heap of hers onto CD and get it to you at Overground. Also, Sam from Sharpie's side project is so far pretty damn brilliant too, if you haven't already.

Overground, Faust and Tony Conrad+Charlemagne Palestine tickets got. I also want to go to 3Cohens (after figuring out it involves the wonderful Avishai Cohen, one of his records I've listened to is stunning), but you must somewhat try at the least to go to the Tony Conrad one. That'll be festival highlight, I reckon. Sun Ra I want to badly, but it's now sold out, so waiting on what might happen that way. Swandrii! I had the definition there within my NZ vernacular, good ol' Sharpies. New album will be a very interesting one too. It's definitely good. Recommendations, huh? ...

I've a feeling Jake's She Ripped will be right up your alley as well, big black drum machines and all. Thanks for the birthday wishes, and hope you enjoy the guitar. Jags are pretty darn sweet little feedback machines, aren't they. Let me know how the mustang grows on you; I see you're doing a few Melbourne International Jazz Fest things this time again?

Cheers man! We're putting out a full length in a few months that'll feature both singles (although a new version of Pitcher) with the proper version of the Operator. Great to hear people are enjoying our stuff, spread the word!

That mustang on your blog is the most unbelievably beautiful guitar I've laid my eyes upon (albeit the viewing via an image, not physically). Where?! Want!

I'm really quite excited about double SWANSSSSSSSS, particularly the 2 hour set at the East. Pure and unadultered. Minus Jarboe, unfortunately! Thankfully missed the quake by only a few days (in sidenote: didn't manage to see Melvins while there, none of their shows unfortunately! Didn't coincide. nor with the Books.), but friends and their family are safe. City is ruined, my friend's father's violin shop is ruined (but the instruments are fine), but the glass walled art gallery still stands. Let us have a catchup of sorts at Swans :) Internet is, and always will be, intermittent.

Right now, I'm thinking which [artist]Coil[/artist] albums I should get. They're hard to find/expensive, unfortunately. Also new headphones are amazing and nowadays shelving library books (my "work") is often a bit of a religious experience depending on the music coming through them!! Also, I've now upgraded to being president of the Chocolate Lovers' Society haha. Med Revue now over as well which all happened last week so missing the camaraderie of that. Keeping busy as you can see.

I just went and saw Mix Tape by Stephanie Lake at Chunky Move. Absolutely stunning as I expected it to be, and I'm on a bit of an emotional hit at the moment to be honest. Surprisingly powerful and beautiful, with certain sections to remain in my mind for quite some time. Four dancers+lighting+music+choreography=affecting beauty. And I'm soppy, because it was about love. Which of the tracks aren't quite sticking with you? Personally, In The Club (Tonight) probably should have been a b-side (lovely and filled with zithers as it is), but the rest I do love.

Was listening to your myspace stuff while nodding on some Opiates and Benzos. Made my night really. I believe I owe you some form of... expression of gratitude.

Haha, true man. All those songs go for about 26 minutes on Itunes, so we can easily fit in another song or two. Champagne and/or Blackest Eyes do you reckon?

Oh wow :) You're digging Sharpies and TFF! As should the rest of the world, really. Lightning Bolt - fantastic. Whereabouts are you now? Feel free to give me a call anytime bro - currently looking for a place to live, and a job over summer. Geelong? Why not :) I can just sleep in your car or something - no plans anyway it seems, but we'll work that out come Static Age!

Just to confirm because I'm stupidly selling my Lightning Bolt ticket and people are badgering me for it - all yours? I think I *do* make up for it for seeing them in Brisbane, the 2nd Melbourne one and Geelong instead though :) Heh.

Hard to say man, it's going to be on a split with Dotabata who is super hard working and has like 20 different things in the works at once. Check some of his stuff out: http://www.myspace.com/dotabata . If I had to guess I would estimate that it'd be out sometime in early 2010, you already heard the best parts anyway haha. I have another Tar Pits thing coming out sooner (Cold War Paranoia), I'll send you a copy or upload a nice rip if you'd like.

Oh it's a brilliant little album. Album-wise, maybe not quite as *stunningly* cohesive as [Greed], but cohesive nonetheless. Amazing songs, amazing sound. Perfect. What the hell am I talking about. They're both great great bands - the best in this current world in fact (along with [artist]Daniel Striped Tiger[/artist] who may or may not now be on hiatus - argh!) but... [Greed]. What a fucking album. I can't get over it haha. Stop giberring Kev. Yes, have my Lightning Bolt ticket for $30? I deserve to pay for the $5 booking fee haha. Not too sure how it works as it's a pdf but hey. And shall we head to Lightning Bolt at Geelong? I'll come with, if that's a distinct possibility. Gibber gibber gibber. Short. Sentences.

Well your charts are good, yeah, but I was referring to your bands in the about me area, especially the ambient one. My favorite Tom Waits albums are Mule Variations, Rain Dogs and Alice, but really, all his stuff is pretty great, in my opinion anyways...

I've just been involved in the Med Revue - a killer comedy sketch show made by me and other med students, that's all :) Sold out all three nights here at Union Theatre, but now that that's all over - it's the prospect of catching up on uni and all that that shits me haha. Ah well, what has to be done has to be done... :) I'm still ultra busy being busy though. What about you?

Probably a no to Friday at the way it's sitting. My reasoning is that I will be cramming (hopefully the fear would have set in by then) and I will be seeing them the Tuesday after at Flipper! Flipper whoa.

Whereabouts in Melbourne are you now? Let us noise jam away. Not too sure about Friday - if I can get off my arse and study enough i'll go, but knowing me i'll probably need every spare second to learn this med bullshit :) So I'll let you know.

I'm definitely keen for some Grey Dats action :) See you there hopefully? That and I don't see any reason why I won't be able to make it. I'm loving the Baseball album actually - I just love intense, tight music that makes you feel and they certainly deliver on that. On that note, i'm sort of obsessing on the Jesus Lizard right now. Fucking great great band of which I need more ASAP!! And I'd be very grateful to have a copy of your album :) Wankfests can sometimes be very entertaining haha so we'll see how it goes! That and just the more music, the merrier. (as long as it gets listened to)
