Thanks for the suggestions! I'm super into Foster The People and Real Estate if you haven't checked them out yet.

jflda, i'm sorry that I mentioned it then! Look at me, rubbing it in your face! The Space Gallery is great! I only have been there once, when I saw Deerhoof/Xiu Xiu, but its such a small space that it makes the shows that much better! I also saw Lady Lamb this summer when she opened for Beirut and she certainly has a great voice. I'm glad to hear Portland ranks up there then, I've never been to Boston but certainly stare at all of the bands name's that go there. I'd be broke if I lived there!

Hey! I'm sorry to hear that you didn't make it to the show, though conservation of funds is a very wise move. Really it was quite outstanding. I had no idea how amazing Cut Copy were live but certainly found out. Welcome back to Maine and I hope the next concert you get to go to is great! I see you've got the Pixies lined up there. I know that one is certainly going to be incredible.

sweet, i'll definitely give em a listen soon. i like vivian girls a lot. if you end up checking out the melvins, or when you do, make sure you start off with the houdini album ;) i haven't listened to a full love and rockets album in forever to be honest but you'd probably like them too. maybe i'm long overdue to listen to some love and rockets. thanks for reminding me :P

haha wow it makes a lot more sense that you were asking about the song and not the guitar (which i don't know what the name of that was either) x] yeah i bet neon indian would be really good live. they were around these parts within the last few months, they opened for another band. i forget who. i wanted to go but couldn't for some reason. ok that's bugging me now. oh wow they were JUST here with chromeo on july 30th. no ok it was massive attack, the one i'm thinking of. hope they tour again; i'm sure neon indian will. what's best coast sound like? i'm always looking for new stuff to listen to.

oh yeah the short performance was what got me the most, i didn't think they sounded half bad at all really. but it was the first show i'd been to that ended so early or where the main band didn't do an encore. i couldn't believe it when they said they were done in 5 minutes i was like "wtf?" it was to the point where it almost felt like it wasn't worth going. yeah i wanna get more into kurt vile too i found that pretty interesting. not sure about the guitar. your top tracks are good :p love neon indian and the zombies!

I actually haven't heard that EP. I'll have to look it up. I've been to most of their shows in Boston ever since they played at the Avalon before it died. If I remember correctly, I wasn't actually a fan of that show at the Paradise because I think the sound was a little off. It annoyed me. :P I was also right near that stupid pole. XD

Yeah, they were alright. I don't know if it was just great scott or what, but I couldn't get into their set that much, and I ended up leaving early. But yeah, I have noticed a lot of bands selling their albums only at shows. I guess it is a good gimmick to get people to buy their music. I just go to their shows so that's the money I can contribute haha

sort of a bummer, actually. i only got to see him at massart, and my friend was going through a rough time that week, so i sort of promised her i'd be back to be with her at like ten thirty, because they said the show would start at six and they also said there would only be one opener, so i figured it would be over before that, but some random okay group started then stupid big digits who aren't bad but i don't like them had to play the longest set ever then nuclear power pants who are the worst musicians but super amusing played a fun but long set and then dan didn't even come on till a little past ten, and i could only stay for two songs. jrdfhmfkhmpfhmfd. im too broke to go to the one on saturday, so instead im djing a lame party. i need to marry rich fast. oh, but it really wasnt even anywhere near the best that i had seen him. i didnt hear anything offa spiderman and the crowd was super lame.

You have filled me with unspeakable jealousy. I have loved Built To Spill since I first heard them near four years to this day (give or take some days... or months... or something). I would gladly accept any sort of Built To Spill memorabilia in the form of photos, videos, or mp3s, and I would wish you to enjoy the show, but I'm certain this is unnecessary.

That's a very good call on autumn music, good sir. Might I also tentatively suggest some Fleet Foxes, Great Lake Swimmers, and perhaps even a little Butcher The Bar. These all seem to suit my fancy as of late, quite possibly so because of the decline in warm weather. They're a tiny bit more perky and lively than Bon Iver and Grizzly Bear, but I love them for what they are.

AH unfortunately i can't answer any of those questions because i missed it as well, via lack of transportation. i'm hoping another couple of free shows pop up though, the books were at colby in april for free as welll! and another couple of sad stories about missed events this summer: i went back to visit amsterdam, and i went the week after dan deacon, chad vangaalen, why? and the acorn played! ALL IN ONE WEEK. god damn airline prices...super drag. and your expirience is surely a loss, no age is awesome. i think i'm going to see why? in boston when they come in october, and st. vincent and andrew bird are playing in south portland on october 24th!!!!! i thought i'd end this message with some good news.

That seems to be a popular subject at NESCom. I think its because of all the bad ass tech we have for it. I am a journalism major. But I am actually only doing the part time student thing this semester.

No I do not. I attend The New England School of Communications, located on the campus of Husson University. I have friends who go there though. So I am in the area often. How do you like it there? What do you study?

I have played the accordion but the one I had fell down a flight of stairs, causing it to make horrible noises when I squeeze it together. Rather unfortunate. My best friend has one and we both play with it.Really I just love hearing accordion is music, I think shes a grand instrument. Jenny of the decemberists she is an under rated lady that girl got skills. Excellent accordion player and actually just excellent musician. I am very excited to see them live. This will be the first time for me and I am really looking forward to it. I love Joanna she is also an under rated lady. Yes her voice is very peculiar and most of her songs would only really make since if you were listening to it while on acid, but I dont know she just has this charm. Oh and her harp playing is magical.I think its just wonderful. She is certainly an acquired taste. I read your note I dont quite get Ys either. Then The Milk Eyed Mender is just a lot more fun while Ys is boring. You have too be in a mood. Oh geez

They are pretty much my favorite Death Cab songs, I think (but I might like the Quarterback version more at the moment). And naw but I saw the King Rat video and I didn't think the song was bad. I didn't listen enough to decide if it's good though. But maybe I'll do that then (though I hardly even listened to We Were Dead either except for a few songs). Do you ever listen to their way older stuff? Not necessarily autocannibalized fruit old, but like Long Drives and Lonesome Crowds

Anything with Amelia Fletcher is great. I saw both Pants Yell! and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart in your charts, so I think you'd enjoy The Lucksmiths, although they aren't really "vintage twee."

I hardly know Cut Copy, but I hear they're good. Mostly I am a big Matt & Kim fan and they are always very very good live (so long as the crowd is in [It's so much better when everyone is in.... it's so much easier]). Lamewad references aside, I am uncertain. It depends. A. Is the venue seated? I heard there are portions that ain't, but their site doesn't give that impression. Is there a way to buy tickets in the Real World where you don't have to pay 10 dollar phantom charges? Standing crowd, $20 price would equal Yes I Am In. Otherwise.... Man, I miss the Avalon. As for Peepee. If you've seen me cry tears like diamonds you should know the answer to that question is Very Probably.

Haha, yeah, I'm all alone in last.fm world. That song is actually off of "If You're Feeling Sinister", which is roughly just as lovely as "Tigermilk" is. Or at least I think so. And yeah, it always tells me to listen to bands that i really like! but don't have on my itunes...It's just like oh be quiet last.fm, i know me better than you!
