Glasgow line up this year is a bit rubbish it's all in Edinburgh now which is worse because finding accommodation for that city is awful so I'm glad I'm just 1 bus away. BUT IM STILL SO PISSED ABOUT DIRU. Going to London last month was my first time and it was for a band I wasn't really into but my friend really liked em and bought me the ticket so I decided to go. Whole trip was hell tho, rather not step foot there again. Only reason I didn't go see diru cus I had no one to go with me at the time and I was also worried about their light set up cus I don't do well with flashing lights #LOL

Just close your eyes the whole time then #easy #method nah but seriously that's so sad. They had the balcony area open which was out the way of any direct beams but it's ofc not the ideal experience. The ugly ai slop visuals still piss me off they can go in the bin. More and more bands are going slop-kei now which is painful to see. I kinda had my eyes on Jiluka playing later this month in Manny but 1, I don't really care for their music and 2, they love AI so I wouldn't regret not going.

I was so blessed with my London experience thank god. I knew a friend of a friend who lives 15 mins walk from the venue so was able to crash at theirs, and convinced a friend (who had never even heard of Diru) to travel down all the way from Edi to come with as I'd bought 2 tickets. Plus I caught Toshiya's bass pick, which is still on my bedside table lol. Also shoutouts to the nice Swedish lady who I chatted with in the queue, had never had such an in-depth convo about vkei/jrock IRL before felt surreal.

I'm so glad! 11 is truly brilliant and the album Ametora is equally so. Her discography is pretty diverse and she has plenty of material from singles, EPs and live releases that are most definitely worth checking out :) She also a frequent collaborator with many exceptional artists such as her song 'Hikari' with MONDO GROSSO which is a beautiful dance track!

It turns out I had listened to some of her songs in the past five years but nothing really stuck. I've listened to two other albums now and I can confirm that her style is very varied, so maybe I just didn't hear songs that appealed to me. 11 is so far the one I like the most, I can see that style fitting well with what SR and Bonnie Pink and Chara were putting out back then, but her more jazzy bits are also good! I am listening to everything!!! <3
