I remember being down in San Francisco back in 2002 or so, visiting friends, and a bunch of us were going to see Dream Theater. That same night Strapping Young Lad were playing at another venue a few blocks away. One of my friends wanted to ditch DT and go see SYL. He might have actually. :D

K! I'm gonna check them all out! I DO have a couple Brant Bjork, so we know where they came from. :) Cathedral was the band I couldn't think of earlier. I like them lots.

I can see why you're not too into Opeth's latest couple. I really enjoy them, but they're definitely different. :) I do know you like stoner rock...I have you to thank for Unida & Hermano (they're stoner, right?). Then I got some Kyuss albums. I'm trying to think of another I like but it's totally escaped me...Have any other suggestions?

I haven't formed much of an opinion about it. Probably need to listen to it a couple more times. I like Coal and Bilateral more at this point. My favorite Opeth used to be Blackwater Park, but I seem to listen to Watershed the most. Deliverance is great, too. I can't decide! You?

Thanks buddy, I'm fine, how are ya? Yeah, WoY were really great, listening to III, IV and V all the time. Sheesh, awesome stuff. I tried Pale Folklore today, and while I thought it was OK, it was a bit too "black metal-ish" for my taste, especially in terms of the vocals. But I'm definately gonna try Ashes against the Grain as much as I'm able to find at least, thanks for the recommendation. BTW, speaking of finding... I found Cop Shoot Cop's White Noise and Consumer Revolt. At least I hope it's really them at a reasonable quality, didn't give them a listen so far.

Um, interesting. I'm good, job is good. I'll send ya an email with some pics of what happened to my house a couple weeks ago. That should keep you in suspense.

Yes...yes, I am. And no...no you did not. I'm sure you were just trying to spare my feelings.

Yeah, I like them. I should know them better than I do tho. I have 8 of their albums, and it's been awhile since I've listened to them. I think the album you mentioned is my favorite of theirs, but I'd have to look at the covers to be sure.

Maybe I'll wait a bit on TPS then. I'm trying to turn another last.fm user onto them. :) Do we get any commission for this?

I like Bilateral the most right now, but sometimes the albums that take longer for me to get into end up being my favorites. So who knows? :) I'm interested in hearing their others for sure.

Thanks so much! I already bought both Leprous off Amazon, the version of Coal I downloaded didn't include bonus tracks. :) Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner - just read my inbox. Anyway, I can already tell they'll be a favorite of mine. Listening to Bilateral again.

Yeah! I even heard a little Pink Floyd in Mb. Indifferntia. Definitely hear POS! That track is phenomenal. Liked the album so much I bought Coal, so thank you! I don't have a favorite Emperor. I usually listen to them when they pop up on shuffle. :S Which is yours? Check your Inbox.

The new TesseracT is super. Forgot about that one. I also still need to check out Ghost.

Ok then, I'm sold. I just saw the name Leprous and assumed it was some raging death metal band, like...Gutted CowHeadToungue or something. I'll try out Bilateral first and let you know how it goes. I do like Ihsahn and Emperor. Opeth, Devin Townsend and Pain of Salvation sound vaguely familiar. ;)

Hey hey! :D How's the new place? I've heard of Leprous, but that's it. Good, eh? The only new (new to me) bands I've discovered are Palms and ††† (Crosses), both Chino Moreno side projects. New QOTSA is pretty good...Twelve Foot Ninja, they're from your homeland. :) They sound a lot like Faith No More. I think that's it. Pretty boring! :P Have you heard the latest from Queensryche? The Tateless one. I heard Tate's Qryche album is terrible.

Wow...confusing. Long story short: Homme was tired of Kyuss and wanted to pursue other things, but didn't want them using his "version" of the band? Sounds a bit like the PF conflict between Gilmour and Waters. I'll have to read up more on it. Maybe I'm trying to simplify it too much. I did wonder about the Lives! bit.

OK, just curious. :) QOTSA are one of my faves, and I wasn't aware of any legal dramas. Was Homme at the concert? I'm assuming not.

So...do you like Josh Homme (since you've got Kyuss spinning), or is it more about Bjork and Garcia? I'm just curious because I never see you listening to QOTSA.

Yeah, both those albums are awesome... I think I like the later two more so though, but they are both their own beasts. That's so cool about Obscura! I'd love to meet them one day!

Listening to Consumer Revolt atm. What stands out the 'version' of "Do you really want to hurt me". Sick, tiwsted stuff, and even moreso than what I've heard else. I'll give White Noise a listen later on when I'm back home. By the way, I see you're listening to Obscura. They're from a town like 60 kilometres away from where I'm from, and funny anecdote: my brother went to a concert where they've played and they invited him to the bar afterwards. Seem to be really cool guys.

Thank you for adding, too! Germany's pretty fine, although we don't have that many Class A bands here. And getting to concerts can be quite a travel. ;-) What I wanted to ask: I saw you have Cop Shoot Cop in your collection. Let me ask just one question: HOW? I can't find any of these guys but am highly interested.

I think The Wall is. Dark Side of the Moon is a really closed 2nd, Wish You Were Here 3rd. Is that your favorite?

It's about 35 minutes in. He plays one of the armed guards right before Stark escapes. He's wearing a curly wig and a cap, doesn't say anything. He gets blown up, I think. Pretty trivial.

Thank you! :D I'm spending Bday Eve watching Iron Man...again. RDJ! Did you know Tom Morello has a cameo in it? Always makes me grin.
