I've been going through Pitchfork's Top 200 Albums of the 1960s list and came across an album called Golden Rain which might be up your alley. It's a compilation of Balinese Gamelan music. Is recommending a collection of 50-year old Balinese music the peak of pretentiousness? Or does the fact it's based on a Pitchfork list counteract that and confirm my pleb origins?

To be honest, Tom, I am woefully out of touch with music nowadays (even more so than before); it's definitely a distant third behind movies and video games... I doubt I could recommend you anything you haven't heard.

I actually still really like Last.fm, even if it isn't as useful for tracking listening habits nowadays since you can play music on pretty much anything.... I, for example, can play music on everything except an instrument.

Facebook = people you know posting Daily Mail shite and other horribleness, Tumbly = total strangers posting awesome things. Obviously, it's all in what blogs you choose to follow. Mine are pretty much half lols and half politics.

Yep, same as me ~ ghost account to admin WT page and events, don't ever add anyone on it. Though Facebook still owns that and since they own WhatsApp and Insta, they still own my socialness there. For me, Tumblr is my retreat and where I get most of my news now as I follow loads of Marxist and anarchist blogs on there. Also, lots of blogs that have pics of cats falling over, which is essential for my happiness.

Since leaving and only having my band page, I'm aware of Facebook but it doesn't impinge on me at all. And I don't miss it, ever. Like the opposite of sex.

And that ten years means I can easily work out that I've listened to, on average, 49 songs a day for the last decade.
