Hi! "It's been a long day..." "Where are U Now?" I got so many questions but I am somehow relieved that you responded. Thanks for that. You didn't went to Pulse for about 2 months. Is there anything that happened to you in real life? I'm really surprised by your unexpected absence. I miss your charts ,your comments to my chart and other people. It feels really different without you there :( Ryn Weaver is still slaying your charts , I guess. P.S. I stopped my workouts 2 months ago since the semester started. Good thing is I stayed on my weight and did not gain any. Hope to hear something from you. - Daniel.

A belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well! Aw, how sweet of you to check my countdown. I'm happy that you love "I Choose You" too. "Brave" really put Sara back on my radar and 2014 was a weaker year for music than 2013 so that made it easier for "I Choose You" to get a high rank. "7/11" is just infectious and fun; it actually took some time to grow on me, but once it did, I knew it'd rank high. Interestingly enough, I'd originally ranked it higher than #20. I think the video for "G.U.Y." really boosted its standing for me. It's my favourite music video of the year actually. Now it's only fair that you give me the complete rundown of your year-end Top 50. LOL.

School has been kicking my backside all semester; the academic struggle has never been this REAL before! I'm in the homestretch now, thankfully. '1989' is probably my favourite album of the year so there's definitely much love from me for it. Of course, some songs are bound to get a bit more appreciation than others, but I am genuinely impressed with the entire body of work. My gut told me T-Swizzle would deliver and I was right. As for Beyoncé, neither one of the two new songs is outstanding, but "7/11" is a cute bop and the video is so simple, but epic. It'll get more plays from me when I'm in a better mode and can appreciate it more.

Turn my back on my country queen? Never! LOL, the academic struggle this semester is REAL so I don't have much time for many non-respiratory functions these days. I just managed to listen to "Something in the Water' and I really like it. The "Amazing Grace" sample in the outro is just brilliant and Carrie's voice is divine. It is very reminiscent of "Ghost" indeed. Both have very strong religious themes, though I must admit that I didn't expect Carrie's to be so church-friendly. It's too soon to tell whether it's a certified keeper, but all the signs are pointing to it being one. 8-)

"Shake It Off" is my fifth played T-Swizzle song mainly due to the hype. I really enjoy the message, but I'm over the song now, to be honest. The video is totally cute, though, and is probably her best clip yet. Interesting to see you randomly bopping to so many Supremes tunes. I've been playing "You Can't Hurry Love" a lot myself lately and yesterday I had "You're All I Need to Get By" on repeat for about a half hour or so.

OMG, "Best Mistake" has already become my favourite Ariana song! I like how it's a lot more understated than her other songs, which makes her significantly easier to understand, and the lyrics! Oh, the lyrics - so relatable. I just checked out "Break Your Heart Right Back" and that's the song about the gay ex-boyfriend, right? I actually think the use of the sample is a bit distracting and the song itself is just alright, but maybe a few more spins are in order for me to discover its magic. Miss you too, but you need to play "Shake It Off" more. <3

"You Don't Know What to Do", "Dedicated", and "Cry" are all great, but the others are a bit meh. I'm underwhelmed for sure, but maybe a few others might be growers. What do you think about the album?

Yeah, the arrangement is pretty simple, but the beat is so addictive! I love it. It's far and way Rihta's best song.

Ah, yes, I needed a song to calm my mind and "The Roof" did the job perfectly. It really is one of her greatest songs. Shame on me for taking as long as I did in realizing that. These singles have completely killed all the buzz for the album in my books. All I need is one GREAT song to premiere/leak before the album comes out and I'll be good.

Well, one of my lecturers made a homophobic remark last week and that really ticked me off so yeah, I was upset with someone. I am starting to love Lily in general, though. And aw, miss you too! Glad to see you spinning Mariah's new song. It's a bit bland, but her voice sounds great on it.

Well, the album has some keepers so it's not a complete disaster. I play "Partition", "Drunk in Love", "Pretty Hurts", "XO", and "Mine" pretty regularly. They're definitely my favourites, though I don't mind "Blow" either. All in all, I think it's a decent record, but definitely her weakest to date. I can only imagine how much more underwhelming it'll sound it about two years' time. It has absolutely nothing on her two classic masterpieces "I Am...Sasha Fierce" and "4".

Beyoncé's new album is quite...underwhelming. I must admit that "Yoncé/Partition" (that's the correct tag, but I decided not to be too pedantic about tags in an effort to curb my OCD for a better 2014) is AMAZING. I cannot praise that song enough. It's everything you expect from her and everything you don't combined to create one super track. Quite impressed by it. The rest of the album falls short of that standard though. "Drunk in Love" is good as is "Pretty Hurts", but more or less everything else is average or sub-par. It's not very radio friendly so its success is bewildering to me, but kudos to her! She's definitely changed up the rules of the game and surpassed every expectation I had for her, on a commercial front, that is.

Nope, I still think "#Beautiful" is super overrated, but it is most definitely better than "The Art of Letting Go". If the song were more like the final forty seconds or so, it'd be a different story, but it was a huge letdown. I've been playing some of Janet's big hits lately (UKMix-related game is responsible for that) and I found this remix of "Doesn't Really Matter" that slayed my ears! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnzhIKBBkAo

Hello! Sorry I'm a bit late replying - I've had man-flu lol. :-(. ARTPOP has really grown on me now. I'd like to see G.U.Y. As a single because it is so catchy and has been stuck in my head for ages! Gypsy is the obvious choice though, and I'd be happy with that too. Personally, I think they wasted Venus a bit by making it a promo single. I think I'd have chosen: Applause > Gypsy > DWUW > Venus > G.U.Y. I really love Dope as well, but I don't see it working on the radio. The only song I really can't get into is Donnatella. I think overall though, I preferred the BTW era. I have a real feeling that she'll pull a Justin and release an ARTPOP Vol. 2 soon. I think she even suggested this before; and she clearly loves the whole ARTPOP concept, so I can't see her letting go of it too soon. In other news, have you heard Britney's album stream? I love Alien, Til It's Gone & Passenger; but the album is too short. I need bonus tracks!! Hope you are well. :-)

I think I might agree with you on The Wanted now. I loved Battleground, and this new one has some solid material, but at 19 tracks, it is a little hard to digest. I think maybe if they'd cut a few fillers and condensed it down to about 14/15 tracks, that would have made a strong album. It's hard to tell really because there is so much new stuff out atm that I am finding it hard to give everything my full attention. I expect in the first quarter of 2014 when it all goes quiet again, then I will be able to decide on favourites! :D. Anyway, I hope you are well, and enjoy your weekend. Happy listening lol. ;-)

Hey, thanks for the reply. Sorry I'm a bit slow replying - it's been a busy week. :-). So your comment really got me thinking actually, because I have also always thought of Prism as an album of two halves (with Ghost kind of being the boundary line), which definitely begs the question why do I think of it as more cohesive? And tbh, I'm struggling to decide now! ;-). I guess for me, TD was all about the big sparkly standout tracks, whereas Prism seems more solid and consistent. Perhaps those are better adjectives to use lol? I dunno really - I was saying to someone else yesterday that I feel like Teenage Dream is Katy's biggest nemesis right now, as we are all comparing it with Prism. I guess it must be really difficult to make a "comeback" after an era as big as TD. So what do you make of Perfume? I really like it, but it think WB just edges it for me. I'm excited for BJ, but I'm disappointed that the standard only has 10 tracks. :-(.

There's a 90s R&B countdown currently going on so I don't know if that's what subconsciously motivated me to check out some Aaliyah tracks or if it was the fact that "Don't Think They Know" is one of my favourite songs of the year, or the fact that Wardo had her as his avi recently. Perhaps it was a combination of those three, plus my intrinsic need to randomly delve into the discography of a 'new' artist. Either way, I loved what I heard. "More Than a Woman" slayed me more than any of the others but "Try Again", "Are You That Somebody?", and "Back & Forth" all topped my chart last week too.

Howdy! :). Oh I totally know where you're coming from on PRISM. I think Teenage Dream most definitely has the big selection of standout singles (I'm a total sucker for The One That Got Away in particular), but I think PRISM is much more cohesive as a record, and a grower too. I'd like to see Legendary Lovers as a single - I think that song is brilliant IMO. I really hope the album grows on you more. :D. I must say I love the two Britney Jean singles, but I totally get why people wouldn't (particularly WB). I'm interested in how the album will work overall. It's weird that WB and Perfume are meant to be next to each other on the tracklist apparently? I really hope the album has the diversity of In The Zone, but also the sexiness and strength of Blackout. I need an urban Britney smash!! Bit disappointed in only 10 tracks though. Will have to buy deluxe lol. :D. Any other music you're loving atm? :D

Hey. :D We haven't chatted for a while so I wanted to say hi!! I saw your comment on Akini's shoutbox "I've definitely lowered my expectations for ARTPOP. I'll still be getting it right away, of course" and I thought - that is exactly me as well!!!! I'm not very excited about it - but at the same time I want it to be amazing. I'm not seeing the fuss about Aura or the R Kelly track yet. :-( So what are your thoughts on PRISM? And are you excited for Britney Jean? :D

I finally got around to listening to 'PRISM' this weekend and I didn't get what all the negative criticism was all about. I think it's pretty much on par with 'Teenage Dream', or maybe very slightly weaker. My favourites are "Roar", "Dark Horse", "Legendary Lovers", "Spiritual", "This Is How We Do", and "International Smile". "Walking on Air" remains the gem of the record as I knew it'd be. As for "Do What U Want"...what can I say? I didn't expect to love it as much as I did but Gaga brought the vocals and for once she didn't try too hard to be overly 'left field' with the production. It was smooth, simple, but effective. Definitely one of the highlights of the year for me, shockingly. R. Kelly does a great job on it. LOL, even a week later, I'm still surprised at the unlikely combo and the phenomenal concoction they produced. My body is ready to 'ARTPOP'!

Yes, "Walking on Air" is definitely my favourite "Prism" song thus far. I've not yet checked out the album though, but I have a very strong feeling it'll end up being my fave from the entire album. All three of the tracks have been pure fire, but I must admit I find "Roar" a bit overrated. Aw, yes, "Forever". It is quickly becoming one of my favourite Mariah songs. Perhaps in a few years it'll pass "We Belong Together". :o :o :o

Yeah, I pretty much echo your "Work Bitch" sentiments. The song was #1 on my chart for three days straight then dipped as low as #15 three days later so it's definitely not got as much mileage as her other lead singles. Perhaps the music video will make me love the song again. I have to thank you for the 'Yours Truly' recommendation! I won't pretend that I loved all the songs but most of them were 8/10's for me (the worst ranked track got a 7.5/10 from me so it is a very consistent record) but the glorious, magical "Tattooed Heart" emerged as my favourite. I've been playing it quite a bit and it looks set to top my chart today! :D

I'm not here for that subtle Jordin shade. You are to expect the best from her because she is, by all measures, the best...and you will deal! <3 Yes, I still prefer "Applause" to "Roar" and I don't see that changing soon. It's a shame how Katy's just decimating Gaga though. I expected her to sell more but not by such a huge gap. LOL. There's this thing that iScrob does that annoys me to no end. I have my music settings to repeat tracks automatically so "Make It Up As We Go" was the last song I played before I went to my Spanish class. I don't know how, and I don't know why, but the track somehow was on repeat for the entire duration of my class and even played afterward. I'm not overly bothered by the "illegal" scrobbles though because now the song's plays are a more precise reflection of how much I like(d) it. I did play it a lot back when the parent album was released. I love the pop culture references in "Disco Love"! The song itself is easily their best since "Notorious"! :D

I think you might have been listening to the unpolished mix. You should definitely check out the finished version that Jordin posted on her channel. The song sounds so much cleaner and awesome-r! Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=HJlCzH6F110. Jason's body is nice but I never found him overly attractive for some reason save for that one particular shot in that Cosmopolitan magazine spread. That was...breathtaking. It looks like "Brave" benefited more from this Gaga vs. Katy clash than the other two though. LOL.

Yeah, I agree. She had such momentum going with "#Beautiful" that it's a shame she didn't take advantage of it. Granted, I felt it was an underwhelming lead single but it was her biggest chart success in years and I was really hoping she'd capitalize on it. Oh, well. I trust she knows what she's doing. Jordin's new "single" is actually quite amazing so I hope you check it out soon. It's entitled "Skipping A Beat" and is sans Jason so I'm super happy about that. There's no word yet as to whether or not it's a lead single or a buzz single but I guess depending on how stong its first week sales are, its status will be known to us. "Acapella" is so awesome though! I love the lyrics and the instrumentation. The part where she sings in falsetta is simultaneously the best and worst part of the song. I've not yet decided which is it. LOL. Hopefully, it'll grow on you though. :D

OMG at you actually purchasing "The 20/20 Experience". Mind you, it's a decent album but each track is at least twice as long as it ought to be. It's sincerely a task for me to make it through that album. In fact, from three attempts, I've only managed to sit down and listen to it from the first to the last track, without succumbing to the desire for a nap, once. LOL at the Bey shade. It does seem like she doesn't know which direction to take with this fifth LP and I was not at all impressed with Mariah's delay. I worry that I'm not going to enjoy Britney's new album since I've read so much about this urban direction she's so keen to be taking but I think Gaga and Katy will deliver strong records. We'll see how Q4 turns out. As for Q3, hold on to your wig because Jordin's set to release her debut single next week Thursday! Unfortunately, it features Jason Derulo but Jo-Speezy is coming BACK! <3

True. I suppose he could just be a bad boy in one video just to fulfill that fantasy (not for me, of course, but for his die-hard stans). I think a big reason for "Right Now"'s lack of success, other than Rihanna's obvious lack of interest in her chart performance at the moment, is that the Navy doesn't seem to completely back it. It's a similar case with Britney's "Ooh La La". Her core fanbase just are not here for it and it's too childish to attract support from outside her fan base. (Granted, it is just a movie soundtrack single so Britney fans can always blame its flop chart performance on that). Oh, and is it just me, or has 2013 been REALLY underwhelming thus far?

I want bad boy Olly. That would be an interesting image shift for era #4. LOL. Nice to see you playing "Safe and Sound", by the way. I really like that one. "Right Now" is so basic though. I mean, I like it but she should have released "Jump" instead for that crossover SMASH!
