Hey bro! Once I left LastFM I pretty much stopped looking for new music. I still scrobble though haha. How've you been man? Got like three kids? Spent three years roaming the scandic mountains?

Yep, you're exactly right, man--finding the good in any situation is what keeps a person goin. Yep--Alaska, back home! I've met so many people who've visited and decided to stay! It truly is an absolutely awesome place to live. And yeah man, if I'm ever down in your 'hood, I'll let you know. Haven't been down that way since I lived in Roswell, NM. Anyway, yeah man if you ever make it to the AK, lemme know! Cheers.

Man, haven't heard Beyond the Embrace in a while. I wish I didn't change my lastfm account like 4 times lol. I've forgotten what my first two usernames were, so I'm missing like 6 years of scrobbles. I'd like to go back and look at what I was listening to. And yeah, I thought I could add friends manually on Spotify but it looks like all that stuff is tied to facebook.

Hey man, good hearin from ya! My younger brother was in charge of building a clinic in the boondocks of Alaska. He had a shitty group of people as his employees, so he gave me a call. Soon, he'd have the greatest employee of his career as a boss. We finished the clinic and moved on to another project here in Bethel, AK. He's since moved on to another city but I'm still here. This place is a shithole, according to many. But I met a girl from Colorado here. I tried to leave, but I just couldn't leave her behind. Been here for three years. Three years of good times with an awesome person to spend time with. Anywhere is home as long as you got a good sidekick and you got your mind right.

It's all good, man... probably all those years being a lazy shit and eating like garbage catching up with me. Sword Chant is a song from Ensiferum's Iron album lol. I haven't given their newest one a good listen yet but glad to hear you like it better than Unsung Heroes - I didn't care much for that one either. Favorite go to bands recently: In Vain, Freitod, In Mourning, Thrawsunblat. The new Dalriada album is great. Unironically love the new BabyMetal album too haha... But yeah, check out In Vain's Ænigma album if you haven't heard it. I think it's an absolute masterpiece. Do you have Spotify, btw?

Haha. This place is doing everything it can to get rid of me, with half of the features being removed and no significant updates in years... but I'm addicted to data/music discovery, and there's just not really anywhere else to go. I have been keeping my eye on sonemic.com and soundries.com - neither site have launched yet, but they are supposedly aiming to be better lastfm alternatives. I only use my facebook for like site registrations or contests. It's probably filled with embarrassing amounts of mobile game spam too. Haven't checked it in a while lol. It's under the same username as here I think. And yeah, still living in the same place. Health problems affecting my day to day for over a year now... trying to work through that shit but not a lot of progress to show for it. Doing all I can to just keep it outta my head tbh.

Shit man, sorry I keep posting, but I forgot to mention that I attended a 2 fucking Gs show in Eugene, Oregon at a pizza joint that was once a car dealership in the 50s. This was about four years ago, when I still lived in Vancouver, WA. They played a show in Portland, but tickets were sold out. Luckily they added a show down in Eugene. So me and my brother drove a few hours down to check 'em out. I don't think you could've bought tickets online even. So we bought tickets day-of. Think of it like this: The band with a small stage, with about as much people as you could fit in half a small high school gym. It was nice man. They were on tour in support for The Bloom and The Blight. So we go into the joint to buy tickets about four hours early, and lo and behold, 2 fucking Gs are finishing with rehearsing and walking off stage. I made eye contact with Adam as the two walked out. If I stuck my damn elbow out, I'd have struck him. I was awestruck man, didn't say a dam word. Show was amazing

A few thangs I been listening to lately: 1) The Arcs - Searching the Blue 2) Nathaniel Ratecliff & The Nightsweats - Howling at Nothing 3) Valerie June - Wanna Be On Your Mind 1) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOdVTaf-CbE 2) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzqmVa6n-es 3) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDsAxq2gPMg Oh yeah, I said I planned on listening to more of Pale White Gs, but I couldn't find torrents. I gotta have free funds to actually pay for their damn albums on iTunes or whathaveyou. So, I'll just have to wait. But yeah man, good stuff from what I've heard so far.

Hey man, what up how you been? Been a long damn time! I haven't been on last.fm for a while, but I still scrobble, just keep tabs on my listening habits, you know. But yeah man, how you been? Is that your brand new kid for your profile pic? I guess we all gotta do "grown up" things eventually, right? haha. But yeah man, I don't have any little runts runnin' 'round. Probably never will. But that's okay--I have enough nieces & nephews to instill my "good music to the next generation." As a matter o' fact, I gave my first mixtape as a birthday gift to my oldest niece. So far so good! But yeah, The Arcs. They're definitely not your style, just something different to recommend, ya know. Their lead singer/guitarist, Dan Auerbach, plays the same role for my all-time fave The Black Keys. Dan, in my mind, is a musician's musician.

Hey man, good news. I listened to Pale Young G's a few years back. Wadn't nothin' I thought. But on a whim I hit PLAY once again. Blew my damn mind out. The vibes vibed with my vibes and we started a nice thing. Don't know if long term is in the future, but I'll just need to listen to a few more albums to find out if she's with me til the end. I got a thing goin' with The Arcs. Don't know if you like that sort of woman but I'll tell you Hwat, they sure as hell can put a song together.

I tried to set the trends. I said "Bronnosaurus Rex, beer me," arm up, ready to catch a light beer but instead they tossed a mango flavored smirnoff ice. So I went back to 'bro.' I picked up the acoustic guitar and went for the modern contemporary musician look -- 'broscaped' look, if you will. I gaze into the sunset on beaches and slowly pour handfuls of sand out in deep contemplation. Sometimes I stand embracing my acoustic against random stone buildings, hoping to meet a passerby who longs for those deep emotional moments on the beach. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxNt2gec99U

yeah that william elliott whitmore album 'hymns for the hopeless' has that southern hymnal vibe. those 'two gallants clowns'.... are they gay they have that lisp in their voice from the interviews i've seen. they ARE from san fransisco. their lyrics point towards that also. who cares it doesn't take anything from their music. i'd go gay for adam stephens. haha

why so many damn moves? my dad was an evangelist/preacher back in the day. kind of grew up thinking metal was 'the devil.' haha but after high school i realized the vast majority of 'christians' are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites who worry more about their image than what they actually believe in.

shit son looks like your bordoms have become my enlightenment. i clicked on that first link and immediately DL'ed 'forever.' i don't know, maybe it's just my buzz speaking but it seems every time i do this my appreciation for metal expands. but yeah i play guitar and the technicality of this 'technically tech' shit constantly amazes me.
