I struggled with 2562 at first-but once you've got passed the idea he's removed all the bits you's liked about the first album (like the dub bits) it's pretty good. In truth KMS is lacking a spark for me as well. Anyway enough negativity how are you shaping up for Xmas?

4hero/Loveless - fine track, lovely album, but I miss the days of Jacob's Optical Stairway, The Paranormal in 4 Form and Wrinkles in Time... Finally got a copy of the new snd - initial impressions are that it's a pretty unforgiving ride with much of their previous albums' syncopation gone. Will listen a lot more as I've reviewing it for the Beeb.

The samples on Boomkat of the Atom make it sound pretty mouth-watering - apparently Florian Schneider-Esleben (ex of Kraftwerk) contributes a vocal coda so I'm picturing some kind of golden age Endless, Endless analogue affair. When I finally get to properly hear it, it's sure to sound nothing like my imaginings...

What do you think of the new Portishead album? Sounds like psych-folk to me.

I think they sound like Peter Bjorn and John after listening to too much Paul Simon Graceland. But yeah, I quite like them
