you too! it will be my first time, but i'm not worried at all, his live albums (especially c'était ici) are brilliant. and yes the tallest man on earth is amazing! if you haven't seen him live you should as soon as possible. he played at a festival i went to in august, and i think it was the best live performance i've ever seen.

Well, for example I'm surprised at the amount of Tom Waits you've heard, he's a rather acquired taste, but I have all of his work haha looking at your listings I think you might like Faded Paper Figures, Broken Toy Airplanes, Owen Pallet, The Age of Rockets. Those bands have very lite and colorful music. Also I see you live Bon Iver and Iron & Wine; maybe check out Elliot Smith, Nick Drake, and Bert Jansch. Oh, and listen to Bonobo if you like Trip-Hop. Spektor was quite life changing. I was with a really close friend and we got really romantic, so that kind of added to the experience. I love the exclusively live pieces she plays live like 'Silly Eye Color Generalizations, they are truly amazing. She's just a fucking angel, everything she does and every vowel that pierces her beauteous lips is beautiful. She made me cry, laugh, smile, and metaphysically explode in the same two-hour period. One of the best concerts I've been to.

yaw, wind's poem is definitely not my favorite either. if i could see him play one of his mount eerie albums in its entirety, i think i'd want to hear dawn, or lost wisdom if julie was with him! :D hmm i was planning on going to that show with why? as well, that didn't quite work out though. did you go to treasure island? it was sold out by the time i went to buy tickets, lol, since when do festivals sell out?! pretty bummed i missed it though, i've gone every year except this one

regarding the mt. eerie show, it was most excellent! the venue was this little, hidden art gallery right off auto row, highly recommended. the three openers were quite good, surprisingly more dance-y than i had expected, and they played with phil during his set, although they only covered songs from wind's poem. haha at one point, the crowd was really into it and actually started headbanging! mmm yeah i hear you, it IS hard to find fellow phil elverum lovers! both times i've seen him, i've ended up going by myself
