  i am glad that you are recovering. make it as long or as short as you like. i’m trying to figure out a way to live in a way that’s aligned with myself, to forgive myself for my past regrets, to refuse the dreams that are not mine. i am soothed by my daily rituals, meditation, writing, tantra. i have been mourning the end of a fantasy of a life that could’ve been for 15 months while roaming the world. but everywhere you stop and turn, there i am, my reflection. what was your substance of choice? i’ve given up everything - drugs, coffee, meat, fish, alcohol, even nicotine

  forgiveness for the self is what helped me remain sober from alcohol - my substance of choice - for so long. i admit i’m still learning how to forgive myself each and every day. good on you for walking that path, and walking the path that is wholly yours and nobody else’s. and it’s true… you take yourself with you, wherever you go
