I really appreciate your comment and I'm aware it's not ideal to read off the screen using a google translator. A good translation of the article is something I've been thinking about myself too. Cheers.

Since you listen to Dengue Fever you may also like reading my article on Cambodian music. http://www.laboratoriummuzycznychfuzji.com/2013/06/labopedia-muzyka-kambodzy-panstwa-w.html If you like it you may also click "lubię to" button to like my website (on the right handside of the page). There's a translation tool in the top right corner.

I'm really, really enjoying it - listen several times a week in my car in fact, dozens more times than I have plays on here! It's probably the most fun album of the year, definitely as far as I've heard. and happy you recognized Saudade, the painting :] it's been one of my favorites since a random discovery a couple years ago.. no one else has commented on that!

you've been listening to ancient Chinese music! are there any albums/compilations with the GuQin you would recommend? I've been haunted by its sound ever since I listened to some solo pieces during the mid-autumn festival.

i've also been listening a lot to daphne oram, & tons tons tons to suzanne ciani. she's kind of my new idol. that seven waves album is devastatingly beautiful. there is also a comp of oddities that i could send yr way if yr at all interested. i know that isn't everyone's cup of tea necessarily. & thanks for letting me know about that gianni record. i think i might post it here sooner than later. my internet isn't fast enough right now to upload the next volume of the reyog ponorogo tapes, so i need to post something ya know? gotta keep the people happy...

i think the people who are intimately involved in hip hop have a very limited scope of artistic vision. you don't see anyone trying to incorporate tamil pop samples in their songs ya know what i mean? or how amazing would it be if someone just had a four minute pan flute solo? or someone rapped on top of sheer white noise? i think that genre could be pushed so much further than what anyone is doing. maybe that is an indictment of modern music in general though... i think music in general is a bit boring ya know? where are the people doing really interesting innovative things that make me feel inspired to be even more weird in my approach to making my art? did you ever get that oliveros reissue that just came out? that thing has been warping my mind. not that it is terribly crazy sounding now, but moreso when put in context it would have been earth shatteringly challenging to the normal person back then to listen to & appreciate.

i think it's tough to be an "artist" & want to create original works of art that move the beholder to tears of sheer awe, & then be told that yr shit was done better forty years ago. it's a bitter pill to swallow. maybe it's pride of the twenties speaking. maybe when i get older i will take that as a compliment. i mean, i do. who doesn't want to be compared to bukowski or what have you? i think i might have gone off the rails for a minute there. my sincerest apologies. i know this might sound extreme, but i have given up on hip hop. i hung out with casey veggies (one of the lesser odd future satellites) & it was just boring. his music was boring, & he was pretty boring. & then one of his guys got mad when i suggested to him that he try rapping on something with more bass. i don't know man. hip hop isn't pushing any musical or artistic envelopes, & it doesn't move me the same way it once did.

& i don't really like r&b, so perhaps a fundamental appreciation for the genre would help me enjoy frank ocean's album more. & i think both tyler & earl sweatshirt are pretty dope. especially earl. his first album is pretty genius for a kid of fifteen or sixteeen. & yes, i spotted the owl in the trees. oh, i don't know buddy. the idea behind the lodge was that it would be a secret burial ground for albums that spookcity couldn't handle for fear of immediate shut down or even worse the suspension of my mediafire. i have over 120 gigs saved up between my two mediafire accounts, & none of it is backed up, so if i get locked out, then all of it is gone for good. i probably wouldn't try to resurrect anything either to be honest. i think i would let sleeping dogs lie at that point. but who knows. if that point ever comes *knocks on wood* then we'll see.

hey hey! so, i'll try to work my way through yr questions/statements one at a time. i don't think i have heard of most of those authors, so i will definitely check them out. i think i became disillusioned with writing when everyone compared me to ginsberg/kerouac, & i was struggling to find my own voice. i have wanted to be a published author since i was six when i very first read the hobbit. anyway, one day i woke up, & the well had run dry. so perhaps, one day i may start to write again if the spirit moves me. as a side note, i am finally getting around to reading dune, what an amazing book! have you read it before? if not, i highly suggest it. it's a bit slow the first eighty to ninety pages, but after that it really picks up & is hard to put down.

definitely. yr analogy makes sense... & kinda funny. i was comparing fahey to mingus in the fact that they always followed their own rules & muses & detractors be damned, & also the fact that they were both kinda angry spiteful men who strove for greatness to spit in the populace's eye. i checked out yr blog, & while i don't understand it, it looks beautiful! i am a big fan of poetry myself. who are yr favorites? i used to write once upon a time...
