Right, let me catch up on the questions: I have seen the NME end of year list, and yes, it's quite good. I forget they cover all these bands. Well, I suppose I don't forget, I just don't read it. I don't think I've listened to the These New Puritans album. Also, I don't remember seeing The Monitor on there, which I think was the best album of the year. The Raekwon I was listening to was the first Cuban Linx. I've been listening to that for years and it's really something else. The best of the Wu records are so interesting and clever and strange. If you've not heard them then GZA's Liquid Swords, and Ghostface's Supreme Clientele, as well as the first Wu record are all incredible. As for Wilco, aside from, as you say, YHF, I'm very fond of Summerteeth. I have Being There as well, which is good, but doesn't have something the next two do, and I have listened to most of the albums since then, but not in nearly enough depth to rank them. What would you say?

Daydream Nation aside, EVOL and Sister are JUST as essential. According to my last.fm history, which I checked this evening, I've listened to them even more than Daydream Nation in the time I've been using this site. If you don't have them, they're not quite as grand or complicated as the Daydream Nation opus, but everything is in the right place and I would say they're both perfect albums. I love Goo as much as most people, it's fantastic, but EVOL and its two successors are the Trilogy. Some have even argued the Trilogy starts at Bad Moon Rising and ends at Sister. I'm not sure I'd go that far, but that takes nothing away from any of them. Like The Cure's Seventeen Seconds - Faith - Pornography trio, but better. And I fucking love The Cure.

its pissing me off that a load of shows are on while im away but i'll see a few here at least. Yeah The Antlers are fucking well good, stupendous Hospice is particularly good. I need to buy all most all of my tickets fairly soon I need an Italian version of Jamie , even if you didnt like him you'd have to keep him around out of convenience with all these free tickets. Milans nice but works a ball ache as expected, as they say im sure it will be worth it in the end!

Have you listened to the new PABH record? - its pretty shit in that there are only 4 new songs on the record I dont have. Massive lazy arses and disappointment... the album doesn't sound any different to the other eps...

i'm so lacking in pavement plays, it's not even funny. recommend any albums? oh man, los campesinos are the shit, and then some. that one record, romance is boring, was definitely on point. as for festivals this summer, i might be going to greenman (only because it's 2 miles from where i live). Doves, Joanna Newsom, Beirut, Girls, Flaming Lips, etc are playing. For a small Welsh town, we do alright. Last year, Animal Collective and Wilco played but I had to miss it because i was in England. Bullshitting. I'd never heard of that fest before, but i checked it out and the line-up is beast, I agree. I'd love to see Modest Mouse, they're definitely one of my top 5 acts of all time.

wicked is fine. honestly... high violet is ridiculous. it's pretty much solidified it's place at number one on my top records of the year (not that i'm making one, or anything. ha). i really can't see any other act taking that away from them right now. that beach house record though, that was sooo close. i didn't really have any expectations for this year as i was still trying to get over 'merriweather post pavillion', but it's been a good 6 and bit months for music. and, man, i hope you get to see that show. for the sake of good people experiencing good music, a spare ticket should just drop through your window or some epic ish like that. i'd love to go but living in wales and all that, well, i think it's just self-explanatory.
