If it's not sold out. I forgot that it was coming up. Even if it is, I don't really mind. I've seen them play with Maserati once before in Tucson. I highly recommend seeing them. The post-rock bands I've seen so far (that matter) are Explosions in the Sky, A Silver Mt. Zion, and Mono. So far Mono has been the best. I absolutely cant wait until Godspeed come around. This year they are skipping us AGAIN. Hopefully next year.

Yea... It's not quite Phoenix. There are gems every now and again -- the store I was in today was playing Neko Case! -- but I think, like anywhere, the majority listen to what's on the radio and don't seek as much that's outside that. It's just a smaller group here & so a smaller group that searches for something more.

Just an FYI on the Wyoming group. I started it like six years ago and there just aren't that many people who live here on last.fm. I don't think it's indicative of the lack of interest in good music in the state though. I've met an impressive array of folks in the state over the years who listen to good music in spite of their geographic disability. :) If anything, being landlocked and miserable makes it more likely people will seek out some vehicle to escape and music usually helps in that way.

cancerslug is from the horror punk world.... kinda samhain-ish. mixes a lot of punk type stuff and metal together with horror aesthetic. I'm no fan of "metal" unless it's like crust or old school thrashy black metal and I can only stand so much of that stuff.... but cancerslug... idk they're just on another planet. On top of that ... all their music is free on their band page... which says a lot about'em.

Yes, yes. And what's even better, it will be the only release from them available commercially now (or at least a release of this album). I think it might get quite decent sales, especially bearing in mind the connection between them and Ariel Pink (and I have my own ways to promote this album and tell about it to the public already plotted).

I saw them in Santa Monica two years ago... I didn't wear ear plugs, although I probably should have. For my first time seeing them I wanted to experience it in full, though I have no doubt that I damaged my ears. They ended their set with "You Made Me Realize" and in the middle of it, they did 20 minutes of this wall of sound, so loud, it was amazing. You could scream at the top of your lungs and still not hear yourself over the noise. If I get the chance to see them again, I would wear ear plugs.

Only show I've been to louder than Mogwai was My Bloody Valentine, that was absolutely insane. It felt like being caught underneath a rocket.
