Chromatic, dissonance, atonal, usually with intended effect. Horror, uneasiness, discomfort, if you prefer this sort of ear torture as much as I, have a listen at deez dissonant ditties, dudes, dames and friends... This playlist is of dissonant songs as well as songs that have a prominent dissonant part, such as "The Best Things" by Filter, the verses don't sound very dissonant, but wait till you hear that chorus.

Give me a break!

Songs on this list have a really strong instrumental break. Sometimes this is a big part for a guitar solo, but that's not always the case. The songs are good, the songs are great, but it's all about that break towards the end of the song in particular that makes them so incredible.

This is an attempt to describe my [peculiar] music taste. The songs on this list are songs that lyrically, and sometimes musically, but specifically lyrically, that I really dig. Either I've researched these songs/know that they are about or just feel them on a deep subconscious level in which case some songs develop meaning that is not within linguistics to describe.

Songs that sound very heavy sonically

The songs that are on this list the focus is on how they sound, not what they say or any of that but primarily the production and the theory behind the songs that make them sound, regardless of language, so so so heavy. Some of these songs, such as "The Death Song" or "God Gave me Everything" are very simple technically from a music theory standpoint but still they sound SOOO heavy to me....
