ah yeah, I think you're right about the Bluecoats, once we set them on fire, they'll look pretty red anyway, so I doubt it will matter! Haha congrats on staying up right and I'm glad you think you enjoyed the Liars! :) Oh…and I'm not overly familiar with actually setting people on fire, I'd like to point out. The other day I told someone else I don't know very well that at night I like to dream of stabbing customers and I think they thought I was serious, I should probably stop giving off this impression of myself :/

Did you enjoy the gig last night? They're always really good live, it seemed to go by so quickly, when they said it was their final song I felt like they'd only been on about 15 minutes when it was actually around an hour! I kept an eye out for you, but I don't think I saw you, falling to the floor or otherwise! I have an unfortunate compulsion to watch men kicking a ball around a field, so I didn't get there until late. I only showed up about 10 minutes before they started playing, so not much time for pre-gig socialising. haha Shellac headlining ATP, it's fate you see! They seem more into ATP than anyone, so I'm sure they'll be happy to play backwards if it means it lasts forever. Only problem could be that it's at Camber Sands which I believe is Pontins rather than Butlins, so finding a sacrificial redcoat could be tricky!

awww you seem to really appreciate the waltzers, I feel bad for my hating now! Although I had nothing against them until that one moved in across the road. They make bad neighbours. Banning spinning over a measly derailment is what I mean about Minehead being a bit too proper for the waltzers. I've seen them assemble that one across the road from me and the whole thing sits on a pile of bricks. Occasional corpses are just an occupational hazard for those guys. They're easily disposed of at the lake as well as those geese will eat anything. Did you see they announced another ATP? It's been a couple of years since I last went, why do they have to tempt me?!

haha the dog to kite thing doesn't surprise me, it does get seriously windy up here sometimes! Talking of flying pets, did you see the thing that was going round the internet last week about the guy in Holland who turned his dead cat into a helicopter?! Nooooo don't say nice things about Waltzers, they're EVIL! :) I have to listen to their music for 2 whole weeks every Easter, they play happy hardcore mixes of "Feels like I'm in Love" and "When I think about you I touch myself"...actually, they were quite good, but they play awful shit the rest of the time. Isn't there usually a creepy gaunt looking man to hang around on the Waltzers and spin you round? Minehead does seem quite proper mind you, they obviously don't allow such characters in town!

I sometimes worry about this apparent lack of a connection between my fingers and my mind. My brain knows what the words should be, yet I seem to regularly type the wrong thing, like my hands are somehow trying to discredit my head. I should probably explain this whole arcade thing, I live at a place called Hollingworth Lake, on the outskirts of civilisation, where nobody goes. It's a bit of a minor tourist attraction (ok, so people DO come here sometimes), so there's an arcade/snack bar place and I have a flat above that. So, I endure occasional strange noises coming through the floor, but get nice views at the front...except at Easter time when they replace my nice view with a Waltzer and I just look out onto dizzy scallies for two weeks. I'm facing a similar gig void, damn those summer months! I guess everyone's busy playing festivals, but after the relative luxury of a couple of ATPs, I'm not sure I could face another weekend in a muddy field.

I do know the difference between your and you're btw, just not at 3am!

haha yeah, you must've put a lot in to get prizes, aren't they usually right at the back? I like how you describe them as "free" btw. I'm totally in favour of that kind of denial :) I don't quite live in an arcade, but I'm in the same building as one....which possibly sounds a bit dingy, but the flats are quite nice! It's a bit poor compared with ATP arcades though...and sadly there are no bands...or giant Bob the Builder (I presume that's there to make kids behave? "do as your told or Bob the Builder will crush you with his enormous thumb!"). Are you looking forward to Liars on Friday?

My sister used to be scarily good at those dance games! I like how the 2p machines always have things like plastic watches or jewelry inside, tempting you with riches if you keep dropping the coins through the slot! There are several of those things within metres of where I live, you'd be doomed here. Like an alcoholic sleeping on a tank of vodka. My own weakness is anything made by Sega with a steering wheel attached, it goes back to childhood, there's probably a man in Japan driving around in a Ferrari bought from the coins I dropped through those slots in the late 80s and 90s.

haha do you think the bands really exist, or are they just an elaborate illusion to keep us happy whilst we post our bank balances into slots, one coin at a time? I kept being drawn to play games, before I knew it, I barely had enough cash to buy some rubbish chips.

If you ever figure out how to live at ATP please let me know! My current theory involves sacrificing a redcoat whilst listening to Shellac backwards.

I will, but the complete lacking of Duran Duran or even similar (A FLOCK OF SEAGULLS!) in your charts is making me really sad. Unfortunately, they're only in my top 10 for the past 12 months, which nullifies my 16 year old self's bizarre passion for rinky dinky guitar bands. x
