I'm very particular about animes (and mangas too) because of the time I don't like the look of the anime (or manga)... elfen lied for example... many people love it... but I don't like it because it looks too "kitschy" :D

cool :) ok here are some great anime soundtracks... of course hisaishi is the best! his music for the studio ghibli animes is epic :D and some other fantastic anime soundtracks are "Paprika" by Susumu Hirasawa, "Inu Yasha" by Kaoru Wada, "Detective Conan" by Katsuo Ohno, "Tekkon Kinkreet" by Plaid, "Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo" by Yoshida Kiyoshi, "Death Note" (3 volumes) by Yoshihisa Hirano (平野義久), "Ghost in the Shell" by Kenji Kawai (川井憲次) or Naruto/Naruto Shippuuden by 高梨康治. oh yes and don't forget the Studio Ghibli Animes... the soundtracks are all awesome! *__*
