No, in Portugal we've been escaping the floods too (the water ones, I mean), but the amount of rain is unprecedented! In fact I don't know how there hasn't been any floods until now. Note that I live in a very dry region of Portugal which climate scientists say it has a high risk of desertification in the future. Not any more, I guess!!! In the taxes front, we are going through a major storm too! For some years already. Current political leaders say we have been living in the past years above our possibilities, therefore we must impoverish. First leader in the world ever that struggles to make his people poorer! Other than that, we're fine. :) Recognize the old man in the avatar pic? It's an orthodox priest preaching to the sailors of Potemkin at the occasion when the rebellion begins. From Eisenstein's film, of course.

I sort of know The Soft Moon, yeah. They did an excellent remix of Ice Age by Trent Reznor's side project, How to Destroy Angels. What would be a good starting point to check out, then?

If I could make a recommendation: since I see you like Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, etc., check out the group/artist Majeure. The 2012 album, Solar Maximum, was one of my favorites of last year. It's pretty straight-up Berlin School worship (think the project is even named after a Tangerine Dream song), but it doesn't feel insincere or derivative, IMO. The title track in particular is excellent.

Wow, I understand the option for heavy weaponry, but it may not be necessary. Chemical warfare may prove more efficient. Think about soaking the barbarians in beer until unconsciousness. The advantage of this approach is that typically they are extremely cooperative with these tactics and willingfull will intoxicate themselves. May be a waste of good beer, though...

I have to confess I had to look that one up. I haven't seen MP TV programs in quite a while so I don't recall all references!!! You beat me on this one. In fact I think Tom has a much harder time with Jerry than Sylvester does with Tweety. Tom&Jerry was my first idea for the avatar but I never liked Hanna Barbera cartoons very much when I was a kid (and I love Warner Brothers ones) so my choice turned to Sylvester&Tweety.

Thanks. I feel empathy for Sylvester. Tweety is a very wicked bird, despite the innocent look (they're the worst kind!). Now, in order to not disturb the harmony of the Universe I have to come up with a smashin non-cinematographic avatar to balance my choice of avatars. :)

I got your last shout (about the b&w pics) in the email but it is not on the lastfm page anymore (maybe you deleted it?). Anyway it was a funny coincidence!!! Probably the fact that most of the bands were goth or akin to the goth aesthetics helped for the coincidence, as goth fans (who vote for the artists pics) have a bias for b&w, for the melancholic and artistic values
