Every AoL album is pretty good! I recommend We Are Him. It was the last AoL album (to date), and it was starting to edge closer to Swans-like rock. You can really tell he was itching to bring back the heavy stuff when you hear it. How I Loved You, too, is massively popular, and it's one of the best things Gira has ever done. Much softer and sweeter (by his standards!) than much of Gira's work. Those are definitely the two most realised Angels of Light albums, I'd say.

The Seer is great!!! I think I'd still go for either SFTB or Children of God as my favourite Swans album, though! They will be so awesome live.

I pre-ordered this brilliant edition about 3 months ago, but it hasn't arrived yet. Omg, I can't wait anymore. I even illegitimately downloaded audio-version and i can say without a doubt that Get All You Deserve will be my my favourite dvd ever. Btw, have you preordered new PT's cd/dvd?

I'm pretty sure that was just at the beginning of the tour, so that would explain why the show was so short. The later shows were more like closer to 2 hours, with the same amount of songs played!

Did you see Swans not long after My Father Will was released? I think the sets grew in length as time went on. I think this tour is going to be much longer than one hour, since one of the songs they're planning to play is the title track of The Seer, which lasts for over thirty minutes!

Awesome!! I hope you enjoy it. I bet these Swans gigs will be some of the best. Apparently there's going to be some new songs played on this tour, too.

Yes! It's pretty brutal. I hope they do it live, or figure it into one of the songs they do somehow.

I've seen them live four times! (Primavera Sound in Barcelona and I'll Be Your Mirror in London, as well as two Swans gigs.) My fifth is coming up soon. Loud is right! I wear earplugs every time I see them. The only gigs I can compare to when it comes to loudness is My Bloody Valentine and Dinosaur Jr.; the latter of which almost caused me permanent damage to my hearing -- I couldn't hear for a week! Scary. Anyway, yes, the album is a bit bloated and indulgent, but the more I hear it, the more I enjoy it. This album was clearly a lot more organic than the previous one, so perhaps this album will have a lot more staying power than My Father Will had. 93 Ave. B Blues is a must-hear! One of the most terrifying things I have ever heard: it's every bit as primal as very early Swans.

I wasn't overly impressed with it at first, but it seems to be growing on me a lot! Mother of the World and The Wolf (and possibly The Daughter Brings the Water) are the tracks that the album could have done without, in my opinion; and the title track is too long. Avatar and The Apostate are roaring experiences. It's definitely worth a listen!
