I would really recommend her. :) Her voice is very distinct, and quite strong. I personally like it very much. Her single collection would be a great place to start! I also like her 2nd album, 嬉々♥. ^^

I really don't know how people who have never learned Chinese before are able to learn Japanese. Especially how to WRITE them. @__@ I can barely write Chinese character myself now, after not using it for years. :P Chinese school was a joke, so I stopped going. xD;

Yeah, I can read hiragana/katakana, but only a little bit of Kanji. I know what they are since I'm Taiwanese, but don't know the pronunciation in Japanese. I guess that's a very good advantage in learning the language. xP As for understanding what the words are saying... well, not so much. My level is only at a beginner's. T_T

lol. i used HS as a workout song, so for awhile associated it with soreness >< it's a bit iffy, but it's growing on me. Fight The Blues seems too similar to HS, I hope there's more variety in the album :S

Ah! My father is actually from Hong Kong but they don't have Cantonese classes :( I do know *some* traditional characters, but we have to use the simplified ones in class otherwise we get told off! and yeah, some of the simplified ones are so different from the traditional ones that I can't read the traditional one at all! which is pretty bad :(
