It's okay for them to have a break for a while, although I'll miss them :') PT was my first prog discovery. Oh by the way, most of the PT scrobbles on my profile were from over a year ago. The last 3-6-12 months are more representative. And in the non-PT time, you can't say SW is doing nothing, his third solo album will be released next Spring and there's the Storm Corrosion release this week! Have you heard it yet (with Opeth's Mikael Akerfeldt)? It's very fascinating. Haunting film music, the opposite of metal, kind of avant-garde... Nothing like he's ever done before.

Oh actually that's my bass player's bass, I'm the guitar player in our band, I just thought it was a cool picture. It's Fender Jazz Bass. Mine is a Sunburst Telecaster. I read a kind of terrifying piece of interview with Steven Wilson yesterday about PT. This is what he said: "In essence, Porcupine Tree has probably run its course, I believe the band have reached a peak both musically and commercially and with my own change in musical direction, it would seem to me to be the appropriate time to put the band on a hiatus. I’ve enjoyed the extra freedom of being a solo artist and how it allows me to be more diverse than within the context of a band. I’m sure the band will appear again in some form, but not in the foreseeable future, I have a large backlog of musical ideas, I would like to see them come to fruition outside a band context, I trust most Porcupine Tree fans will see the greater picture and look forward to these exciting projects."
