Is Unlimited SaGa as unique (and strange) as the other SaGa games?

I so wanted to keep on the SaGa series, but I have no videogame, only emulators. I did play SaGa Frontier I & II (so many hours of fun) but I'm stuck to old games right now. Which is good 'cause I can play games like Shining Force. The music is not so good, but the tactical-style battle is good enough, I'm having fun.
