As for the band..I'm going to assume you're referring to Thrice. I've been listening to them since wayy before they became popular (not that it even matters) and find them to be extremely talented and innovative. Every one of their albums sounds significantly different..hell, each part of their new 4-part album sounds significantly different..and they always tend to be ahead of the curve.

What rules? Some fake ass I can only like bands that nobody has heard of indie creed? That's not much different than just listening to mainstream or whatever genre. Truly elite is not giving a shit and liking whatever you like whether it's popular or not (unless your taste in music just sucks).
