You're going to Rites of Darkness? You bastard! Even I haven't seen Mournful Congregation and StarGazer live yet. The other Australian bands on the bill are also godly, so I hope you enjoy it. The closest thing to that is happening in the coming months and I might be missing that due to school.

Well, I'm doubtful to call it DSBM. It's definitely not like Xasthur but I wouldn't call it negative and "depressive" to some degree. I tend to go for a label like 'melancholic black metal', as I see it as a middle ground between traditional and depressive black metal. Also, you'll enjoy Catacombs of Blood. It's probably their most developed album yet

The problem with Drowning the Light is that it's considered hit and miss, which I agree with despite being a raging fanboy. :P Azgorh has stated in the past the the newer stuff is much better than the older material, so I recommend to you their An Alignment of Dead Stars and Catacombs of Blood albums. However if you're feeling up to a more lo-fi sound, a more melancholic atmosphere and a bad drum machine then A World Long Dead and Through the Noose of Existance (yeah, that's actually how it's spelt) should be good.

I found it. I too an tempted to get it because the songs from the game are just beyond godly. But I'll have to wait and save up, mainly because I have a show to go to this weekend and I plan on getting some stuff there. It looks awesome, though

I have no idea. I downloaded it because it's so hard to find. I've seen some places online which say they have it but it's always under "unavailable" or "sold out". I should have know about it before going to Japan so I could find it. I want it so much!

No worries mate! Glad that you like them, because I know that a lot of Australians don't even know of them haha. I guess that comes from the mentality that only international is good when there's plenty of great bands that probably live a few blocks down!

Haha, I only put down 'maybe attending' because unfortunately the show is 18+, just like their show back in 2009. A lot of the shows that I have listed down are 18+, even Motorhead and Alestorm. It's so annoying >:|

Ahh, yes. Sigh is a wonderful live band. I was lucky enough to see them life a few years back. Extremely good liveband. It would be nice, but seeing as how they got jobs, and especially Satoshi has a hard time getting some time off, it gets hard to tour, since they tend to use Yasukki of Abigail fame to step in for him. Sad but true. But a tour with all the members would have been nice. They had all the members when I saw them.

I can't decide on a favourite. The last Sigh album I heard will always end up as my favourite until I hear another Sigh album, then that will be my favourite up until the next and so on. Extremely strong discography. Always unique, and never failing. Really looking forward to next years album. Gonna be great!

Everything they released is the best from Japan. Genre doesn't matter. Everything they've released up until now is pure gold.

Yeah, that's about right. Maybe a little off, but not by much. It's a masterpiece, though.

Hmm, i'm not into the local metal scene but plenty of good bands came lately, like Viper (Brazil), Vision Divine (Italy) (in the last 4 years) and in the 90s came Napalm death, Sodom and King Diamond. There are also great local bands like Raw Hide (saw them live in 2006) Corrosion (early-mid 90s Thrash Metal band) and i read somewhere that ATTOMICA (80s brazilian thrash metal band) is coming by christmas time. I actually travel to Brazil or Argentina for concerts.
