Hi fellow music brother! Well I'm glad you like (ADORE) Big Big Train :-) The Underfall Yard is the only album I've got, but it's insanely good indeed. I'm kind of scared to buy the other ones... What if they're not as good as TUY :D Anyway, you like The Whirlwind too by Transatlantic too? I've seen them in Paris two weeks ago. It was the best thing I've ever seen in my entire life (together with Porcupine Tree). What else was there... The Question Mark Album by Neal Morse, like that? Hmm let me think of another record... By the way, I was just listening to the Snow Goose by Camel when I read your comment about the Camel album. I'll check it out! yeah, just alice in chains, pendulum, cradle of filth, metallica (soon to be crossed off the list!!) and opeth (the number one fucking band). did you get the new pendulum album? it's so fucking good.

Yeah it is amazing indeed! I even remember you, that's seldom on a medium like Last.fm ;-) Well, our taste is really similar so it's possible that I recommend stuff you already know. I'd say, try Transatlantic (album "The Whirlwind"). They got together in 2000-2003 but split up then. I 2009 they got back together and created this truly masterpiece The Whirlwind, a long 77-minute epic, it gives me the chills every time. It consists of Portnoy on drums, Trewavas (Marillion), Stolt (Flower Kings) and Neal Morse (solo). Check out Neal Morse's Question Mark Album too! You already know Porcupine Tree, Opeth and Dream Theater.OH YES ONE MORE THING! Big Big Train. My own band has more fans on Facebook than them, but their latest (The Underfall Yard) is beyond the beauty of music. Six tracks, last one is a 22-minute prog epic and brilliant ("The Underfall Yard" (song)). You can download it for free on their website. Check it out, you won't regret ;-)

Well I got Clutching At Straws by Marillion, don't like it either. Too mainstream "disco"-eighties something :p Riverside songs: Second Life Syndrome, The Same River, The Cutrain Falls, Volte-Face, Dance With The Shadow, Out Of Myself (pretty much in this order) and some more. Apparently their newest album "Anno Domini High Definition" is quite good too, but I don't have it. Hybrid Times, Left Out and Egoist Hedonist should be good: they're over-10-minute-epics ;-) It's cool you know Pineapple Thief. I know a couple of things of "Variations on a dream", but I just can't buy this album in Belgium :-( Maybe I should try KScope...

Afterwards I noticed in your playlists you listen to all of that! :-) Let's say, I'm a fan of Katatonia (Night is the New Day) and Karnivool (they're Australina - Sound Awake, Themata) too. I've seen The Pineapple Thief and Riverside recently, two awesome progbands with great liveshows! I'd say, try to find "Variations on a dream" or "Tightly Unwound" by TPT and "Second Life Syndrome" by Riverside. I've seen Sigur Ros too, try ( ) or "Agaetis Byrjun". But there's so much more, man ;-) Although neo-progressive, I am not a fan of Marillion. Just can't get into 'em.

And many more of course (Katatonia, Karnivool, Camel, Yes, Rush,...)

Other bands: I see you listen to Porcupine Tree and Dream Theater a lot. You probably have In Absentia and the Warszawa live album (saw the songs in your playlist). You should definitely check out the song "Anesthetize" by PT, their best ever (17:42 epic). Albums: Fear Of A Blank Planet (2007, with Anesthetize) and Deadwing (2005, with ArrivingSBNH). By the way: Steven Wilson from PT has several musical projects: Blackfield and no-man are fabulous. Blackfield I and Blackfield II are two good albums, with more accessible music than PT, but yet very good. no-man is more artrockish and space (check out Together We're Stranger and Schoolyard Ghosts albums). Everything SW creates, is amazing. No kidding dude :-)

Hey man! Yes indeed, our musical taste is very similar. We're the best :-) I discovered Gazpacho last summer and they're legends. What an incredible sound. I recently bought the live cd-dvd "A Night At Loreley" through www.wiventertainment.de (German site viewable in English) and it's even better. Tick Tock is one long story about someone who flew over an ocean and crashed in the desert or something (story by A. de Saint-Exupéry). Anyway, "Night" by Gazpacho is really good too. You should listen to it as one track. Especially the last part called "Massive Illusion" is amazing. Violin part starting at 8:35 is the most beautiful thing I've ever ever heard.
