Oh right, where about do you live? I can only imagine it'd be an extra hour if you lived somewhere like Bangor. Ha you're right Bright Eyes isn't sold out, I'm pretty low on mula at the moment though so I'll have to hold out and hope it doesn't sell out. Yeah definitely, apparently BRAIDS are good too but I'm yet to listen. You need to put your Last.fm radio to use then! Get on your neighbourhood or recommendations, that's what I usually do.

Yeah there was a whole wave of that lately with LCD Soundsystem although I never made a conscious effort to listen to them. Oh do you not live in Manchester then? Thinking about it now I could have bought tickets seeing as I know a few people going, oh well ): seeing The Antlers this Friday so that should be good, despite the journey to Manchester aha.

Hola, nice taste / thanks for the add. Looking forward to Bright Eyes? Kinda wish I'd bought a ticket for it now seeing as it's one of those 'last chance to see live' things D:

You music patriarch :K Regina is a saving grace, she's so talented and quirky and lovely... but so's Emily Haines and the Soft Skeleton and all my other femme collection of bright young things :) I take a wide pass on anything self-claimedly pretentious I'm afraid :( Annnd a subscriber is someone dumb enough to pay to access last.fm's 'bonus features'...

Yeah they're definately growing on me, I probs need to download an album and give them an intense listen at some point. We're still only 'very high'.. you need to listen to some of my shitty female-fronted indie shizz ;)

Oh man, I WISH I'd seen him live already! I think that's actually my #1 life goal, somedayyyyy it'll happen :S Ahh yeah, fair enough. The internets are a funny place. Oh nice, hopefully he does then! There was this awesome page somewhere that had all of Mangum's old tapes on mp3, but alas, it is gone :/

Hahaha, I would say: uh-oh, you've said too much now! But I mostly just listen to MMJ, MoF, M. Ward and Conor stuff, so not much left to recommend ;) Except maybe some Swedish artist that you might not have heard of... like Oh Laura:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjQXMZe2ouk and I see you haven't listened to I will be there when you die yet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pTNsgiDIxc awesome stuff! :D I hope Bright Eyes new Coyote Song shows up on Youtube soon too... :)

Must be honest, I am really getting into Bright Eyes, got a couple of his albums on the go at the moment :) Haha, I wish geeking it out on the internet didn't have to be such a shameful hobby..

I know, everything they say about them is true, that's what makes it so hard :'( http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Pitchfork_Media though this is quite a funny explanation (don't judge how much time I blatently spend on the web plz) Tom Jones related innuendos never really go down well..

Pitchfork is always good for a laugh, or a cry if you read it's reviews of your favourite albums (ie Placebo's) and they absolutely beat them into the ground with a stick! The bastards! http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/6328-meds/ :'( Hahah, I guess I'm just a new creed of emo who enjoys not dressing like a vampire and is partial to a bit of Tom Jones action!

I always feel like a music elitist if people haven't heard of ~any~ of my favourite bands D; Heheh yeah I'm a hardcore emo...how'd ya guess ;) I'm falling out of love with Placebo, but every now and then Molko's adorable voice is all my life needs :D http://pitchfork.com/ the epitomy of everything hipster and pretentious and also quite readable

hahah, "so what's your favourite genre?" "Oh y'know, anything in the top 40" :| To be fair my top band is Brand New which is pretty emo, but I don't careeee. I don't think I'm cool enough to be an indie kid, and I think my long time love of Placebo may play down any indie credential.. And I'm pleased we're super :D I'm trying to extent my music tastes beyond what pitchfork recommends..

Glad you like it! (you do still like it, right? ;)) It's one of my favorites, I've even started listening to some M. Ward too. He's got a very cool voice, if you haven't heard any of his music you might want to maybe try that as well? ;) Poison Cup is a personal favorite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Krf2fyazu_o and with that I'll stop harassing you with suggestions, promise! :)

Discussing music is great, until people start slating with over-used cliches, but if that's the case I tend to ignore them :) But I'm always up for musical banter! Bahaha, that sounds like a great way to start a festival off.. I managed to force my way through the crowd in Crystal Castles by scaring the sensitive indie kids with my hive-swollen arm (;

Haha you're welcome, really I could never turn down a chance to talk about Jeff Mangum's genius. Plus I wanted you to actually listen, so being rude wouldn't have accomplished anything! Those two were actually the only official NMH albums, though there is also the Everything Is EP (similar sound to On Avery Island) and a /ton/ of mixtapes made by Jeff back in the day. They're all over the internet if you look in the right places. Ahaha yeah moderation can be a challenge. I'm glad you liked it! :D

Hmm, I am liking what I hear of Bright Eyes, what album would you reccommend? Hahah so true, no trip anywhere is complete without some medical-room experience! I can't say I make a habit out of tramp-ish drinking, but if I ever do I will rename myself Clive.

Oh wow, that would be an ace way to end exams! Better than going and getting drunk on Spar's cheapest wine in the park, I presume at any rate. The Coral were so good, I had forgotten how much I loved them until Lat :) Must admit I missed most of Vampire Weekend as I caught hives from the midges... bad times D;

Thanks for the nice comment on my review of Latitude :) I really wanted to get to Glasto this year but it was right in the middle of exams >_> gahhh! But if the line-up is as decent as it was this year, I'll defo try and get down next year.

Thanks, and you have awesome taste as well! (oh man, Bright Eyes was my very favorite pre-last.fm account, I totally approve of that + everything else) That's a very interesting dilemma and I can certainly understand your predicament! On Avery Island has an interesting sound that's rougher and much more raw, and so it's less "listenable" in that way. Every song on aeroplane is pretty much instantly lovable, but OAI takes a few listens to really appreciate. That being said- there are some tracks that are fantastic on their own. Maybe give "Song against sex" , "Naomi", and/or "Gardenhead/Leave Me Alone" a listen first? Just like dipping your toes into the waters, or something. Hope that these ramblings help somewhat!

Well, I'll answer with a question: is anything these guys do average? It always seems otherworldly to me anyways :) However it might take a little while to see the beauty of the MoF songs, but now I love all of them, the favorites being Temazcal, Magic Marker, The Sandman, The Brakeman and Me and His Master's Voice. There are no words for how good His Master's Voice is, JJ really nails that one. And the alternative version of The Sandman, The Brakeman and Me with JJ as lead... wow! It's like a soft cozy lullaby you just want to wrap around you before going to sleep. Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgxjizZJXGg and of course the alternative version of Temazcal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_aQIysiySs Let me know what you think! :)
