They were the best I've seen them yet. Truly stunning. I was front centre and jesus, I needed a cigarette after. Went to Conan in the doom room to chill out after. I didn't spot you at all! So crowded though, it's no surprise. Oh, I met Sakis and company at the signing and got my Theogonia and Kata Ton booklets signed! Sakis remembered me from the front line at Thursday's show - I was very honoured! Were you at the afterparty?

Hi! Yeah, I'm just saw Rotting Christ, ToTG and Negura tonight at Manchester - the three I was looking forward to the most (apart from Mourning Beloveth, who cancelled) so I'm pretty relaxed about Damnation. Probably still see RC again over CoL though - I love them that much. Also going to check out Vallenfyre. How about you? Btw, are you on FB?

Hey! Yes I am going to Damnation - though I may have to print out my ticket again, I've just moved house and can't find anything :/ looks amazing though. I think I'll just book a hotel room so me and that woman there, commenting below, can go to the after show party. Can't wait!

Ireland, not Iceland! Still expensive though, hah. So you're coming to Damnation again, cool. Will say hi if I recognize you this time. Really excited about seeing Rotting Christ again and Twilight of the Gods for the first time.

Nah, sadly not - London trip being way too expensive and on a Sunday, hell getting back next day. Also spent a lot on my last trip to Ireland earlier this month. I did make it out to the Falloch/Forest of Stars/Cnoc An Tursa gig in Leeds on Saturday night though. That was great. How about you, what have you been up to? And isn't Damnation looking great?

That's shame about Fen. I'm seeing Winterfylleth again next month, supporting Enslaved, btw.

Oh, Redemption was utterly brilliant. Wish you could have made it. The festival itself was pretty much near perfection - I spent the final three hours glued to the barrier for Rotting Christ and Primordial - need I say more? Also Solstafir and Mael Mordha were incredibly good and Winterfylleth put in their usual bravura performance. Had some *very* interesting and entertaining 3am conversation with Chris and Simon at the afterparty at Bruxelles too. Hung out with Keri (snowblood on lastfm) which was great. Also spent a stupid amount of money at Into the Void on Friday (ask me what I bought! what a great shop!)) and had a top night at the ITV anniversary party - 300 people packed into a tiny venue for Destroyer666 and 4 other bands. Oh, and got knocked flying by Averill at one point ... you know, the usual Dublin Friday night out. Really wish you could have made it. Maybe next year?

Oh, I see you have Redemption in your events. Do you think you'll make it over there? So close now!

Definitely interested in Altar of Plagues, also curious about Ulver, the rest I'm either not interested in or totally unfamiliar with. How about you?

Primordial are incredible live, no doubt. I had never seen them until this year, and now I've seen them twice. The first night was a headline gig in a small club, and the second a festival appearance. The headliner definitely qualifies as one of the best nights of my life.

I had a chance to see Electric Wizard last year, at the Maryland Deathfest, and I didn't. I saw something on a different stage instead. EW didn't do anything for me on CD, but like I told Helen, if they do a club show near me, I'll check it out.

Huge Primordial fan, hell they gave me my last.fm name. Jealous you got to see them at Damnation, but I hear they only got 5 songs.

Hey man, we have a couple mutual friends, and I thought I'd drop by and say hello. Always nice to meet a fellow Woods of Ypres fan.

Nah, I was about six rows from the front but there were loads of tall people in front of me and it would have meant holding the camera way above my head while trying to concentrate on the music and occasionally getting shoved about by the usual two or three idiots who decided to annoy everyone around them with some dumb attempt at moshing so I opted not to bother. Maybe I'll get some footage at Redemption in February. or maybe not - usually I'm so into their sets that I don't even think about recording anything, Luckily with Wodensthrone I was up above the crowd at the side with a clear view - in a prime position for getting some decent footage. Best view of the entire day, actually. If I see you at another event I'll say hello, anyway. :)

I enjoyed Wodensthrone (that wasn't you up front and centre for that one, was it?), Primordial and Vreid the most - even though I had to leave Vreid ten minutes early to get a good place near the front for Primordial. Electric Wizard were excellent too, as were MDB. Got a bit fed up running from stage to stage, actually, but it can't be helped with a festival of that nature. Did you meet Alan at the signing? I managed to totally miss that, typical.

Oh yes, I'll be there. Really excited about it! Shame Primordial's set is only 40 minutes, but whatever, it's better than nothing. Very curious to see Wodensthrone live for the first time too.
