Oh man, you've never heard Japanese death metal? You don't know what you're missing! Their scene is one of the best! Try Intestine Baalism, Mononofu, and Manierisme (the last one is actually black metal though).

p.s. I do really like the fast burst technical melodic dtyle that has become synonomous ()but not limited to) metal core...its justa shame if you hear a riff played a certain way and a certain type of scream on "this track" or "that track" you become labelled. Myself I like everything with a soul from Mesguggah to Mozart, NOFX to Nile and Cannibal corpse to pink floyd..and so on. No elitism, (and I do not accuse) going on here...well maybe except emo and bullshit pop/numetal...everyone has limits!

Yes man, wintersun are a prime example, and as for the bring me the horizon band, i am not a fan, i actually found one o their shirts once ina festival, brand new and made sure i sold it to someone..haha, i agree for the most part about the deathcore thing..although i am a big machine head fan (except that one album, if you know them, you know which one i mean- the burning shed) and these days I would say they could fall into that category...same with unearth, who i like holistically, music, lyrics, themes, sound..although i dont argue you can find a meatier growl out there..i just think it works...anyways i dont want to drag this on but I really REALLY appreciate your input. perhaps it may sway me to experiment more with vocals..both in regard to depth and melody..if only i can find a good way to do it that isnt ripping off fear factory or terror 2000!
