Thanks for the heads up man, I just searched my foobar and it pulled up 4 albums for Solar Fields. I must have downloaded this very recently, giving it a listen now. It's like a more aggressive version of some of Steve Roach's work, getting more into the IDM/Trance field. I dig it so far, real active stuff. You might want to check out my blog later on this year, I'll be doing a best of 09 list. And I can already tell you that Gareth Hardwick's "Aversions" is going to be near the top. Textbook drone done with guitar.

Yeah, I know what you mean, I have been kinda trying to diversify my listening habits a little this year. Going back to some old shit I haven't listened to for awhile and still trying to check out as much new shit as I can. But last year was just sooooo much Kayo Dot, Don Cab, and Sleeping People. Still lots of Kayo Dot, but I have tried to tone other shit down.

i only just got it seems promising it is a shame - sounds like they were really heading somewhere, both musically and in terms of visibility for jazz. I wish there were more of those new jazz trios who are connecting with young people and playing in rock clubs. I think it's a good way to keep jazz alive.
