To start with I was psyched at the mere prospect of getting a new Stereolab album, regardless of the quality. It took a few listens to truly grow on me, but I love almost all of the tracks. Yesterday saw their live performance, it was magical! What about you, do you like the new album?

I really loved it from the first listen. I was a little worried before it came out that it might end up being derivative of their earlier works, but luckily it felt very distinct while still sounding like Stereolab. I’m going to go see them live in September and I’m super excited

You won't be disappointed! Something I've always loved about Stereolab is how they manage to maintain a quintessential, instantly recognizable signature sound, yet constantly infusing it with fresh influences. I guess they just genuinely love music and the making of it, which shows in their impressive several decade-arching catalogue.
